Soul Kittens fundraiser
« on: 02 September 2014, 02:27:56 pm »
Hey there,

Some friends of mine are setting up a global sex positive directory called Soul Kittens and they're currently running a fundraising campaign, with perks including advertisement. It looks like a really exciting project and something that I hope a lot of people will want to back. If it doesn't make the target amount all donations will be refunded, so I really hope it gets there!

There's lots more info on the fundraising page here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/soulkittens-a-portal-for-all-things-sex-positive

I just could not work out why they need to pay ?2K for a website and then pay one of themselves another ?2K to code the site.  For the two grand I would expect all the coding to be done with the website

I also found it hard to understand what the site would actually be doing

It says a site where we can learn all about sexuality practitioners then say they will only be allowing their own practitioners they are friends with on the site and later on others can pay to come on if three of the ones they know ask for them.

However why would we want to fund a site that is there to make you money.  If you were not paying yourselves a wage and doing it voluntary as a charity type site then yes I can understand as the site might be of benefit to some but asking people to fund your business venture is not really going to be the best way forward.
I may have until I saw you paying out twice ?2K for a website.  A website should come with all the coding needed.  IT also should not cost ?4K to build and code a website.

You need to state more about what your site is going to be for.  It is ok saying you will have practitioners but practitioners of what exactly.  They cant all be for the same thing so what are they going to be doing.  As that is really all you have highlighted.  Apart form the fact there will be events listed if people pay for their events to be listed on your site.

Truth is far more important than what one wants to hear. With truth there is no us and them or colour or religion there is just fact
