Pre paid credit cards
« on: 10 February 2014, 07:48:05 pm »
Hi everyone
Could someone please advise me on which pre paid credit cards are usable on sites like viva street, backpage, punternet ect?
I bought one from my local corner shop and put ?30 on it and its useless and I didn't keep the receipt so I cant do anything with it.
I don't want to make the same mistake again.
So, what she done said was that happy hoes ain’t hating and hating hoes ain’t happy.

I'm not sure why prepaid cards aren't accepted on those sites, yet the legit escort sites do. I have a prepaid card with a bank that is actually linked to an account and it don't work

Your very welcome. Do you have the pin number for the prepaid card that you have that you said was no use? If so then just go to the cash point and withdraw the money x

Hi Chanel, out of curiosity which card did you buy? Is it not working because it's asking for personal details?  Have been looked on the website of the pre paid card to see how it's used online or is it just those websites that aren't working? x

I cant find the card now but yes I had to register it online didn't give my real address. Maybe that was the problem but I didn't want my details on the card. But I filled out the online form. I got pin number for it but any cash point I tried to use to withdraw cash it just didn't work.

So I went back to the shop and when I explained the situation the lady asked for a receipt as proof that I actually bought it there? From her reaction I knew it was a write off. I do like a challenge but as I didn't have the receipt what could I do? I could go as far as to link the serial number of the card to cards that have been sold to that shop but I couldn't be arsed.

Ill have a look for the card and when I find it ill put it here as I do think its a bit of a scam.

Erm but its a gold coloured card.

When you have to register a lot of these cards online or if you buy it online you need to give your real details as they do checks.

Oh I see..
I thought they were anonymous? Then Im confused asto why use them instead of a standard credit/debit card?

Please any one who knows of any that do not require so much personal information please PM ME  :o :-*

Yep, I used to have a pre pay but had to register it so didn't see the point of it, other than controlled spending. I don't know how people use different details but apparently some cards you can put a second name. Don't know if you have to prove the identity for that second one with real details.

The point of it for some is that they can be used to take deposits via Pay Points or similar, and make hotel reservations without having to have any money available. I'm happy with Amazon for deposits and just use my normal cards for advertising payments/hotels, but I had one a while back called IDT Prime which was unregistered up to a certain amount (you can't use unregistered ones at cash machines) at least. Their site has a list of stockists where you can buy them over the counter.

I'm not sure why prepaid cards aren't accepted on those sites, yet the legit escort sites do.
I have a prepaid card with a bank that is actually linked to an account and it don't work
I was advised by one company that they do not accept prepaid credit cards as acceptable for payment.
This is because said companies terms require the customer to be over 18.
Some Prepaid credit cards can be legitimately obtained by under 18 year olds.
Therefore all Prepaid credit cards are not acceptable as proof of age, to this company.
I then paid using a normal credit card without issue.
