how do you verify clients
« on: 10 December 2009, 12:54:27 am »
So i am ina bit of dilemma

i want to travel to the uk for mostly fun, but i might as well work a little while i am at it.

Here in america we use date check, they verify the clients and of course has any girls or boys they have seen on it. I can contact their references and ask if they had seen them etc so on.

How do you verify your clients?

Sometimes I ask them if they are a policeman, and if they say yes, I ask them if they'd like a compensated romp. :D (Not policemen on duty! Only if they email me first.)

We obviously don't need to worry about being arrested which is what would make my brain explode in fear were I ever to try and work in the US. Adultwork.com is big here and gets a lot of traffic as well as having a lot of features, including ratings of both escorts and clients. Providing they haven't chosen to have their feedback hidden, you can have a really good nose through clients' feedback, the feedback they have given other escorts, which escorts they have been to see and what services they went for etc etc. The feedback can be a little sparse, or misleading, or just downright silly though so you have to pick and choose and try to build up a bit of a picture by reading 'tween the lines and all that.

Otherwise, I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I don't verify my clients one bit. I don't confirm their real names or where they work or where they do their weekly shop, usually (sometimes these things do get covered in casual conversation :P), so I keep safe by making sure someone knows where I am when I'm working, and the contact details and name of who I'm with. Plus check-up texts after the appt.

I think we all weed out timewasters and nutters with our special antennae, over here. ;) I don't get many no-shows at all so at the end of the day, if someone doesn't turn up, I'm usually a bit relieved that I can then get back into my PJs and eat macaroni cheese and do some more reading or whatever. If you need to be more strict with TWs though, there are a few different methods SPs here use to weed them out!

We don't need to. Prostitution is legal in the UK.

Threre is lots of information on the main site about safe working practices, security checks and so on - it's a good idea have a thorough read if you are planning to work over here. Welcome to SAAFE!

I find this verification thing rather puzzling, probably because I have not considered working in the US, so haven't thought too much about it.

Just out of curiousity, is the verification only to make sure the client isn't from a law enforcement agency?

What is date check and how does that work?

Apologies for my naivety.

Its not just the law enforcement its to make sure that when he is in your room and lets say he kills or beats you i have his info and he can be arrested

Ah, ok, I see.

Is the information on date check something compulsory? Who enters the info? and how do you know it is trustworthy?

There isn't really a way to check clients like that over here, I try to get as much info descreetly from a phone conversation, but often with an incall the most I know is their mobile number and the name (first name) they have booked under, often when they arrive I get their car reg. For outcalls to hotels I will know the name they booked under, and their room number and have checked that they are in that room.

I think our best security measures are in the security buddy system we set up individually, someone who knows everything you know about the client prior to the booking and the lenght of the booking. Then at the start of the booking and once you feel the client is ok and you have been paid you call your security and let them know, and let the client know you call your security at the end of the booking too. So when the booking finishes you call your buddy again.

There are a number of threads and some info on the main site about keeping safe.

With regards to feedback, I rarely check that, but keep an eye on the warning boards.

Hope that helps.

Anyone who kills or beats anyone can be arrested. It's a serious offence in the UK too.

Seriously, I appreciate that you may be more used to IDing punters than we are - although if the rate of attacks on indoor prostitutes is significantly higher in the US, I would guess that a large part of it is because the protagonists will know their victims are less likely to go to the police for fear of being arrested themselves, which we don't have to worry about. For incalls in the UK you are likely to find a lot of resistance if you start asking for personal details - punters are used to being anonymous if they choose to, and having a decent security procedure as Cassie describes is plenty to put off opportunists.

Just doing outcalls would be a possible solution - it is the norm to ask for more details in order that security checks can be performed and could be a solution if the thought of trusting clients 'sight unseen' worries you that much.

There is a similar thread from way back when about it here.
