Free Escort listing directory (Yes, another one!)
« on: 21 February 2015, 08:27:09 pm »
Good evening ladies, and I am sure some gentlemen too!

I started a little project a while back to create a directory for Escorts in the UK. In order to get it off the ground and see what needs to be tweaked and changed to make it work, I need some content! So, if you would like to get listed on it, please feel free to take a look, sign up if you like and feel free to give me feedback on what you might like to see on it.

Site is here: http://escortharmony.com/

I was a little unsure of the domain name initially, perhaps incurring the wrath of a certain dating site, but what the hell... Fortune favours the brave (or foolish!). I'm not looking to compete with the dating market, certainly not in terms of search engines, but I am working the "Meet ladies and have a happy ending - Everytime" angle and maybe extoll the virtues of Escorts over dating sites. Lets see if we can convert some people!

So, benefits for you in listing your Escort Service? Well, pretty much all the basics, search, image uploads, locations etc. Also, you can add all the links to your social media also, so any users can still engage with your even if your are not in their area for bookings, this allows you the opportunity to gain more followers, site views, etc, and maybe you can monetise this. You can also add your own affiliate link to your AW profile if you like so maybe generate extra revenue through there so good for webcamming or if you have paid galleries for example. All listings get automatically posted to the sites Twitter feed (Ill be adding Google+ to this soon, but not Facebook unless I can find a good reason too). All listings will be manually approved so quality can be maintained.

Benefits to me in giving away a free service? Education for me in the site building, maybe pick up a few customers who want a website built for them, and I'll look to maybe monetise it in the future so maybe have paid listings, ads or something like that. For now, its totally free to use and you can add what you are happy to add.

If you have any questions or comments, good or bad, please let me know!

tl;dr - Sign up for my free listing directory.

Many thanks!  ;D

(Note for Mods: I do have another post on here from about a year back promoting web design and I know you tend to merge posts by repeat posters in this section. As this post is not really related to that one, would it be possible to have this as a separate post? Thanks!)

Of course - I've removed your other ad, since as you'll know from the advertising rules you're not permitted more than one thread. Glad to help.

EDIT: having just looked at the directory, if I was you I would have stuck to website building. I'm also confused as to why you are advertising here when the directory terms ask us to state that we're not selling sex or sexual services? What exactly do you think the people here do all day?

Oh, and the Escort Etiquette page, whilst obviously meant to be an opportunity for you crowbar the word Escort (and it ahouldn't be capitalised any more than plumber, nurse or train driver should) needs some serious editing. It is not for you to say that NO prossies respond to text messages or even withheld numbers - some do.

Individual decisions on how we work are up to us, not to mention the fact that punters won't appreciate being patronised. I don't expect Booking.com to lecture me about how to behave in a hotel.

Yes, if you're going to cut and paste stuff, at least do it from somewhere literate and sensible.

(That doesn't mean you can do it from here!)
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

Thanks for the post.

It is a work in progress still and I need the content to progress the site and work on the back end for the SEO.

The disclaimer is really just to cover anyone (myself included!) from a legal aspect, may or may not be relevant! It is my understanding that many Escorts use the "You are paying for time and companionship..." line and rarely ever state they are selling sex as such.

If I may ask, what aspects do you feel could be changed?

There is no 'legal aspect' - selling, buying and advertsing the sale of sex online is perfectly legal. We should not be having to tell you this - why would you build and make public a website without knowing the most basic laws surrounding what you're proposing to advertise, ffs?

The stupid 'time and companionship' disclaimers are borrowed from the States where prostitution is almost entirely outlawed, and used often here by agencies who (by pimping people out rather than dropping their drawers themselves) are breaking the law in a misguided attempt to pretend they're not. Even then, having them advertising on your directory is irrelevant - all you are doing is selling/providing advertising space, not getting involved in their activities.

If I may ask, what aspects do you feel could be changed?

I can't comment on the design because I'm looking at it on my phone - it looks terrible (clunky, dated and amateurish) and the words aren't spaced properly, but without being at a computer it would be unfair to criticise specific things further.

Get rid of the silly fluff - you don't need a 'terms' page bar a 'over 18' button on the entry page and dump the Escort Etiquette thing as it's an embarrassment. You are providing a blank space for people to add their photos, information and contact details as well as a link to their websites; anything else to do with how we work or arrange things with punters is not in your remit.

What is in your remit is to firstly get advertisers register on the site, followed by promoting it so punters find it, then persuading them to use it. Good luck.

When you come to your senses and give it up as a bad job, just report the thread and I'll take it down. We can soon stick your other ad back and pretend this never happened :).
