Smear tests and hpv
« on: 02 July 2016, 09:38:03 am »
I received the results of my smear, i have some dodgy cells that need removing as they could possibly turn cancerous. I had this about 20 years ago so not worried. However, what i didnt realise is that these changes on my cervix are caused by a virus hpd. Its sexually transmitted. Im worried about my fella but apparently they cant detect it in men. Just wondered if anyone else has had this virus?

Im considering stopping kissing and owo. What scares me though is that business is bad at the moment and if i reduce my services even more, i'll never get any business!

Any advice?

Hpv is extremely common. If you already have it I can't see why you would reduce services?

80% per cent of the population have it.It can be totally symptomless or depending on the strain it can cause things like genital warts. It comes from skin to skin contact so condoms can't stop it either. The only way to avoid it totally would be to saran wrap yourself from head to foot.By all  means stop kissing or owo if you want to lower your risks of other types of sti but probably pointless to avoid hpv or passing it on.You have the issue in your lady parts anyway not in your mouth.

HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection.HPV is so common that nearly all sexually active men and women get it at some point in their lives.
Again as already said condoms can reduce the risk of contracting HPV but uncovered areas can still spread the infection.
Most people don't know they have and live with HPV symptom less their whole lives, the main symptom as far as I know is genital warts, and abnormal smears can show HPV.
IF I were u i wouldn't worry, if u had abnormal cells 20 yrs ago you've had a strain of the virus for a long time so I wouldn't stress unnecessarily, just my opinion x
Best of luck with the removal of cells, been there too xx

Yep, as the others have said, nearly everyone has it, or has been exposed to it. There are about 20 strains: some cause cancer (including penile and anal as well as cervical), others cause warts, others do nothing. Using condoms religiously only cuts exposure by about 70%.
