I stayed here before and it was hell. Nice at first of course but then I was slowly being taken advantage of and the host (who lives with her twenty something unemployed boyfriend) would get her boyfriend to come and intimidate me asking me for random fifty pounds every other week telling me I needed to contribute to bills (internet, water). The host would then get her boyfriend to pressure me into trying to pay the rent sooner than the normal pay day because she was behind with her own rent.

I would buy food for myself and leave in fridge and it would be eaten and I would get an apology and next day it would be put back.

House stinks of weed as all they do is smoke weed all day.

Says towels included but got a nasty text one morning telling me not to use the 'good towels'.

The host is a beautiful and lovely woman and would have stayed if it wasn't for her strange and controlling boyfriend. She also has debts and makes you feel bad and asks you to work 'harder' in order to pay rent sooner or to work harder in order to pay two weeks or a months rent instead just so she can save herself.

It was a very awkward experience and I'm glad I got out of there when I did. I did not feel relaxed or comfortable whatsoever and had to stay on my toes at all times not to upset anyone.. also had to make myself ready for the next time he knocked on my door pressuring me for random extra money I had to give apparently for bills, or bulk condoms I didn't even want or ask for, or weekly deposit or whatever which I never got back at all...

Anyone can charge however much they want for anything but being intimidated and pressured by a random guy is not cool. Especially when not being told all of this you think you're only paying for a room and be left alone to work in peace and comfort. Not be befriended and taken advantage out of. And again I don't blam the host whatsoever. Maya is lovely and I loved her a lot but something not right with the boyfriend.

Also forgot to add something quite important.....!!!!
The boyfriend asked me more than a few times if it would be ok for him to take control of my bookings hahahahahaha. He said he and maya were opening a agency type or brothel or whatever and he wanted to learn how to take bookings. I never let him at all and told him about guys answering the phone wasn't good and plus I don't want to be involved in that.
But that was f*****g weird and I didn't like it.

They both told me they'd be out of that place in a few months and it would be full of girls from Maya's country working for them... I still have her on my hotlist and nearly a year later she is still there.

Oh and the girl who wrote about how lovely her time was staying with maya... is her best friend who also has a flat of girls.

Dangerous place/people.

Could you expand on this please, Princess? It isn't clear whether you're posting from experience or just commenting and it's important to be straightforward for the sake of other members :).

Yes.
The host (Polish female) assaulted me verbally/physically/sexually when I asked for my deposit back. She is mentally unstable and admitted to have bipolar disorder. Together with her boyfriend they threatened to imprison me if I won't give them keys back. I asked for my deposit because I cleaned the room and did everything they asked for. She claimed I annoy her by asking questions. Well if I need to know something or resolve the issue I do that. Thanks to these people I will NEVER pay the deposit to any private individual. They changed their mind on the last day and said I suppose to pay 350 per week when they agreed on 300 at the beginning. The Somali male was making-up stories just to adjust his version of the events. The female was threatening to break the glass on my head if I won't leave the place without my money. So in order not to end up in A&E I left.
And that is why it was dangerous.

Very unprofessional. Arranged to view the room on a certain day, texted and called on the day like she suggested but her phone was off. Then hours after the time she told me to come for she text saying she can't do today. come the next day ( just like that, no apology nor explanation, no manners ) thought I should just let it slide and rearrange for next day. She then said I was too young. I think if she doesn't want a certain age group renting from her then she should put it in her ad instead  I just wasted my time, moving things around and postponing things to view a room and if I had went to view it  that day she wouldn't have rent to me anyway cuz of my age. Plus after reading all these feedback I'm glad it didn't work out.

Too young?? How old are you by the way??
Because SHE LOVES young girls to take advantage of. I was 20 and my friend was just only 18 when Monika (her real name) and him befriended us. Pfffff. Other things I forgot to say was, they made you feel good that me and my friend wouldn't lock our door sometimes when we went out and one day we came back and the guy was like have you cleaned the wall?? (Talking about our bedroom wall)... we were confused and asked what he was talking about. He asked if we had cleaned the coffee stain off the wall to which we replied with an attitude.. we don't even drink coffee and how do you know there's a stain on the wall or was it here before us ?? He just asked us to clean it and be careful because deposit covers damage and stuff to room. We checked the room and no word of a lie there was a damp COFFEE stain on the wall which the psycopath obviously did while we were out.

Another story ... one day came home to Monika crying and shouting at herself and her boyfriend (pimp), that my friend (who wasn't living there no more) had been in her room which they left unlocked and emptied her perfume bottle lol. I explained that I was with the girl 24/7 and she would never do that ever. And if she had done that then I would know and basically you are calling me a liar too when I'm telling you that's she never ever did or would do that.
Monika just was crying and having mood swings.

Another story... a TV came to stay at the house for about two weeks. The woman/man had made own arrangement of pay which was I think every other day as she didn't have much and agreed to pay after clients. Monika one day woke up and didn't want her there anymore... being friendly with me told me she is disgusting (we found the tv toothbrush in the bath with shit on it, then another time the toothbrush was left in one of Monika cooking pot as if it had been boiled) ... she asked the woman to leave because someone else would be using the room and that she had told her this already. The tv had no idea what Monika was saying to her and was crying she had nowhere to go. She asked for her deposit which Monika didn't give back and then it got heated ... the tv (who is over 6ft and manly built) got emotional and refused to leave without her deposit ... Monika screamed to get the fuck out and threw a bowel of cereal or something down the stairs to hit the woman but it didn't, the woman just swore screamed back and left...!

Personally I would have beat the shit out her if she ever touched me or got heated. I'm not scared of her at all and I have a feisty character anyway. But she tries to be dominant where it's not needed and with genuinely nice people, some people aren't used to this aggressiveness and it's hell living with someone who makes it known you are in THEIR territory every second you are around them.
Yes she has bipolar but she is lovely when she's good. The boyfriend is weird and I think provokes her and makes her angry and upset and has a button on her moods and puts things in her head about us girls also who stay in the home so that she gets angry with us...

All very strange. Lovely house but horrible people.
Oh and by the way, it's not their house. They will tell you they rent it from an escort agency and there is no way that you can speak to the agent. It's all bizarre really. Best to stay away.

Can we keep it relevant and concise folks, please?

It's enough to briefly describe your experience and state why you feel others should be alerted to the ad. There's no need for lengthy accounts of incidents especially when they involve other people, and if anybody wants to know stuff like this they can PM for it :).

Don't know whether to post this here or on the other thread but I do think it's the same place because of the patio and walk in shower description so this should be linked to the other post.

My experience is from two weeks in Sept. They spent all their time in the bedroom, I didn't smell weed, they do smoke though, a lot. I had the room downstairs and their room was upstairs so it never bothered me.

PROS

Clean room and house
Plenty of towels and lean bedding
Paid no deposit and left on good terms
Quiet and discreet whenever I had a client

CONS

Food kept getting eaten then replaced - (I told them it wasn't ok and they stopped)
When she starts screaming at him at 1 in the morning then suddenly stops
Too friendly - I think she's lonely and wants female friends so eveytime I was out of my room she would say hi.
He gives off a weird vibe, fake friendly sort of personality
Didn't feel secure leaving valuables or my bag laying about - Not saying they did but felt like they would go in my room
Didn't get bedroom keys

All in all for what I payed the short term rental for me is worth it, in and out.
I think its if you are there long term and so they think you are friends that things turn nasty. If they ever asked me for extra money i would have left sharpish.

Mimi and Missi how long where you there for?

Considering you both had such horrible experiences I would have left pronto...

I was there for two weeks, see some of what you are saying but from stories I heard from another girl who stayed there last year for a long time Mimis experience rings true, every word of it sounds like her from the stories my friend told me.

Every word apart from bookings bit, from my experience and hers he has never and she said she was never asked in a way by him to involvement in the bookings. She was there for way over 4 months so I am finding it hard to believe that plus from my own experience as well... just saying...

Yes, they advertised originally with the patio and shower and all is correct except the patio is closed due to cold weather and rain...they smoke in the kitchen and opened the windows so the room was cold..

When I had a booking coming the black man came out of the room and scared my client off. He then lied to his girlfriend, maybe to provoke her and she got in her rage. The client told me he was not comfortable to stay when there is young, black man around ..  :o

Wow.  :o

I find your tone so aggressive. Why would you say no one cares what I believe, a comment like that negates your whole post as both of us speak from experience. The whole point is to give HONEST reviews without personal 'vendettas.'... I don't care to pm you, I commented for the benefit of others who want an unbiased and factual review. If you feel you warrant a pm maybe you should have pm'd me.

This whole thing makes me uncomfortable, I don't want to know more I just want others to know my experience and from what you wrote I feel the majority of it was true bar the last bit.

I stick by my original review.

In regards to the walk in shower thats what the call the upstairs bathroom.

Good, that's all sorted out then.

Unless anyone has anything else relevant to add which might help other members, that's enough. Anybody reading can draw their own conclusions pretty well from the information already provided and there's no need to squabble amongst ourselves :).

EDIT: Off topic posts removed and thread locked. If anybody has useful information to add or would like to contribute their experience of the place, just drop me a PM and I'll reopen it :).

Amy wants factual things not beliefs and I've already written a load of irrelevant stuff from when I was there. So no. Thanks to my posts and thanks to yours. That's it. Don't question me and I don't question you. And of course not everyone who stays there is going to have the same experience. Write what u need to write and bye bye.
