Im in two minds as to carry on touring this week
Im booked to go to heathrow have featured advertising
But the bad weather / snow warning is putting me off
I don't need to make much as ive been pretty much flat out busy generally since September do I can afford not to work but I just can't make up my mind weather to stay at home / work from my flat which will be quieter but easy or go to heathrow where im pretty certain it will be busy but the weather could throw things off and it could be dire
Im off on on on the 21st for 3/4 Weeks so really wanted to work till I went but this bloody weather warning is annoying
Anyone got caught in bad weather when touring and stuck

No, but a girl I know was stuck.
I'm staying on for the final leg of my tour in Oxford tomorrow as I have several advance bookings. What I will do is keep a daily eye on the weather and if the snow starts to lie heavy then I'll up sticks and go home.
I've been busy too but I want to finish my tour and us Scots are used to a bit of snow. It's only a problem if it lies. My mum has predicted sleet and heavy rain. She's a bit of a weather guru. ;D

I'm supposed to be down south next week visiting a friend and possibly take 1 or 2 outcalls, thinking of postponing it though as I can't afford to be stranded and miss any College.

I was in Edinburgh at the start of the awful winter a few years ago and everything just ground to a halt - the Forth Bridge was shut and even the people in town who could have walked were all cancelling because nobody wanted to go outside and I didn't blame them. The buses were a mess because of the snow and there wasn't a tram then.
I left early because I was worried about getting home, but I don't think I'd have done more than cover my costs if I'd stayed and I thought I'd quit while I was ahead. It doesn't tend to settle much here but there's a lot of rural type roads around and people can get cut off in the villages.
I don't know how much it would affect Heathrow - it depends on who you normally get bookings from. I doubt people who work at the airport are going to be able skive off just because it's a bit cold and they must surely have to make sure the roads are usable?

Getting stucks a problem but ( just a thought) if planes are delayed, not taking off maybe they'll be a lot of bored people about ? Also I would imagine the roads around there will be clear ?

The forecasts don't suggest it's going to be sustained snowfall, not in the southeast.
When are you due to arrive in Heathrow? BBC Weather suggests its only Thu evening and early Fri morning that's likely to see snow in that area. The motorways will certainly be gritted and I'd imagine all the major roads around the airport too.
I'm probably going to north London on Sunday but I must admit I'm hanging fire until Friday to book.

That is difficult then because if it does come down on Thurs evening and Fri morning, that's pretty much your whole first day gone.

I have till 4pm with free cancellation so even if I go and it's crap I can cancel the other days.

Yep, I'm only about 25 minutes drive from Heathrow, and the weather forecasts disagree about snow, but at worse it's looking light and tomorrow/Friday only, with some sun on Saturday and then rain on Sunday, so unless things change and it snows heavily/for a long time, I doubt it will cause much trouble.

I haven't seen snow in UK for years... :-[
So maybe you should not worry that much. Here south where I am this week, the temperature is nearly 10 degrees daytime and I wear relatively light clothes :o outside

It's snowing where I live at the moment scotland, I have a 1 day tour tomorrow so we will see if it's work the trek as it's snow, i'd rather stay under my blanket.

Are you flying? If so just heard on the news load of flights cancelled at Heathrow today, incoming & outgoing presumably.
Even if not with more bad weather predicted I'd think twice.

On the flip side I got loads of calls when we had the snow ( didn't think I'd get any) I'm assuming a lot of guys had the day off ?
