Questions and Answers / Re: How safe is OWO?
« on: Today at 02:37:45 PM »
It depends on what you're concerned about. For HIV, the risk without CIM is nil, for example (and with is not much higher). There are other things you can catch - do a search here for OWO for much discussion.

Questions and Answers / Re: Urgent help needed vetting Agency!!
« on: May 24, 2013, 05:01:41 PM »
If you cannot find anything on them, how is anyone else - like clients - to do so? Asking to meet you at your home is a complete no-no: the less someone breaking the law by running an agency knows about you, the better. That applies regardless of their gender.

There is lots here on agencies, but the TL;DR: is that you will find few people who will recommend working for one, rather than for yourself, and if someone does have a recommendation, they can send you a private message.

You've been looking for reviews - did that show up any agencies or parlours in the area?

Blather and Babble / Re: 'prostitution is not a job'
« on: May 23, 2013, 10:43:56 PM »
Someone once wanted a quote that was a reaction to this sort of thing. My first response was that it should be "fuck off", and the second one was..

Quote
Article 23 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights says that everyone has the right to free choice of employment, to just and favourable conditions of work, and the right to form and to join trade unions for the protection of their interests.

There is no 'except for sex workers' in human rights. Such rights are particularly important to oppressed and marginalised groups.

The burden of proof is not upon sex workers to justify this: it is upon those who seek to refuse fundamental human rights to attempt to justify their bigotry. Every time sex workers' humanity is denied, it encourages violence and discrimination against them.

.. much the same as the first, but in a few more words :)

Feel free to send something like it (via an anonymous email?) to the organisers.

Questions and Answers / Re: could i loose my child?
« on: May 23, 2013, 10:19:41 PM »
The standard the authorities are supposed to work to is 'the best interests of the child'. You have to behave pretty badly to have that involve taking them away.

Doing outcalls definitely won't trigger it without doing something stupid like abandoning kids unsupervised. For incalls, you're not doing them with them around, so again, you'd be fine.

This doesn't stop some people - ex-partners, disapproving police etc - from threatening it...

Yes, there are people working as pro-subs, including here.

There are issues you need to think about, but most of them are the same as vanilla escorting: establishing limits, screening, security etc.

Just because you allow someone to order you around for a time doesn't mean you're not in charge :) But if you disappear into sub space and don't care what happens to you, you may need to be careful.

There are several threads about working when in a relationship and also concealing it from them here - do have a search.

Questions and Answers / Re: escorting while pregnant ?

A quick reminder to keep it nice. This is something that brings up strong emotions, however saying 'I wouldn't' is very different from saying 'you mustn't', and - as something on my Twitter stream said today - "A bunny who knows how hard it is to hop does not judge other bunnies for hopping".

As an expectant father, you are actively encouraged to fist your partner. They call it perineal massage, but that's what it is. Obviously, you should be able to trust a partner more than a semi-random client, but it is a sign of what you can do safely.

A few years ago, it looked like someone was targeting escorts in San Francisco in terms of stealing their laptops / PCs. The suspicion was that they wanted access to the emails, possibly for blackmail purposes (prostitution being illegal there, of course). Someone I know started giving 'how to protect your work communications' lessons because of course none of the escorts did anything near what you're doing.

And I suspect the much the same is true here. If there is a more than a handful of people here who know what TrueCrypt is, I would be amazed, for example. (It's a bit of free software that enables you to set up what appears as a new disk drive on your computer. You need a password to access it and its particularly clever feature is that you can set it up so that if you have to tell someone what the password is - e.g. they have a knife to your throat or a court order - you can give them one that will appear to work but not show them everything and they may have no simple way of proving there is more they can't see. Easier, though probably less secure, alternatives exist.)

As with a variety of other things, this is all a matter of balancing risk and reward. Total security is a pain for you as well as those you want to stop, and most people go for a risk level consistent with an easy life. You don't insist people email you with PGP-encrypted mail, for example, and it's possible to go overboard in one aspect while ignoring another. I know of someone who was so paranoid about someone being able to find out who their clients were that secured their email etc more than you... and didn't have a security buddy knowing where they were - they could talk!!

For the rest, Google Analytics is fine, but if they are using the right set of AdBlock Plus filters, visitors will avoid being tracked by it, so don't believe it gives the whole truth. There are a variety of other ways of opting out of such tracking.

More later.

Some people will scream 'noooo', but there's a niche market for pregnant escorts: search here and on Google for 'pamfan'.

You'd be better off doing this independently unless the parlour can market you properly, and even I'd want to negotiate that you kept the premium you can charge.

Questions and Answers / Re: Giving Oral Without Risks
« on: May 16, 2013, 09:29:10 PM »
I would have thought that if only offered oral without that business would be very dead?. Only because many ask if do oral without. Are there ladies who are kept busy offering oral without only?.

There's a market of men who want OWO. There's a market of men who want OW. There's a bigger market of men who don't care either way.

A search will find some examples, including people like Amy who have gone from OWO to OW without noticeably losing client numbers as a result.

Questions and Answers / Re: Giving Oral Without Risks
« on: May 16, 2013, 09:25:01 PM »
I was reading a gay mens magazine in the clinic waiting room today (..) and it said that the risk of getting HIV/AIDS from oral was 3% but you need to take into account how more often people would like oral etc...

Oral is the almost universal sex act between men, so the HIV risks for oral have been studied for ages. Ghod knows where they got 3% figure from - that's the top end for being on the receiving end of bareback anal with an HIV+ man.

For oral, the top end estimate is 0.04% (4 in 10,000) per CIM with an HIV+ man. Personally, I think that this is an over estimate - the study it came from made some assumptions I think are wrong - and there's evidence saying the risk is somewhere between nil and almost nil.

If you do OWO but not CIM, the HIV risk is nil.

There are other things you can catch. Whether or not you do OWO depends on how you balance the risks and rewards: personal, professional and medical. There are loads of threads about it here, because it is one of the classic 'some people do, some people don't, it's totally up to you' issues. If you do it, make sure you let the clinic know so they include throat swabs.

Not all cameras use SD cards, so check that, and make sure it is a large capacity one.

If you're trying to work with someone, having a friend of theirs around can be a pain - if they insist on telling you what to do all the time, for example - but any photographer who baulks at you bringing one is not someone you want to be alone and semi-clad with, so well done for telling this one to get stuffed.

Yes, as well as the 'where would you park it' issue, there's also the privacy aspect around your registration number - it just takes someone to go 'Hello DVLA, I was involved in an accident with.. and I need the address of the registered keeper...'

www gov.uk/request-information-from-dvla

How good are the toilet and washing facilities too?

You don't need anything / much in the way of credit on the phone - clients will be calling you, not the other way around.

My latest phone cost £10 from Asda including a SIM with £0 on it. Someone you know will have a spare phone you can put a free / £1 SIM in.

No-one's mentioned this yet, but is telling the police about the breaking legs threat an option?
