yep me  - have never looked into the legality of  if its wrong or right as i think its better to ask forgiveness than to ask for permission  ;D  and it my safety and security at hand

i have cctv on my front of my house where i live its actually an ip cctv linked to my burglar alarm and it means that 1 can monitor my house from my laptop or where i can access the net and two if the alarm goes off it will ring and text pre decided telephone numbers
i have something similar at my  working flat as well

This is why I've never done outcalls, I've been tempted to try them many times but I just dont feel safe, I also feel like I cant be doing at all with the prospect of the guy not being there, being a timewaster etc

With regards to security, has anyone felt it acceptable to set up cctv, even though its in my own home? Might be a silly question but I am interested to know

op have you thought about parlour work if you cant do incalls at the moment? xx

More people than you think have CCTV installed these days, they want to protect themselves and their property. The cameras are so small and technology so could it's very easy to do. I only actually just noticed one on a house I walk past almost every day, and have spotted lots of CCTV cameras on houses on estates, as well as in secluded spots with more noticeable cameras outside(they really want to put someone off before they've come anywhere near!). They are quite popular for watching over vehicles parked outside etc, especially when car vandalism is one of those crimes where it's carried out when no-one is about. Others have them linked to integrated alarm systems which alert someone closeby, or sometimes the police themselves.

I agree, CCTV is a lot more common now than even a couple of years ago.  In fact I am currently in the process of renewing my home insurance and a few of the companies actually ask if you have cctv on their forms!  So they must be legal.

As for outcalls all we can do is minimise the risks, we cannot be 100% risk free in this job however hard we try.

My first ever out was to the Hilton years ago but ill never forget it.  I was so nervous but just thought keep my head up and go for it, walked past reception got my foot caught on someone handbag and feel onto my knees ;D  I laugh now but at the time i actually wanted to die, I left and rang the client and told him my car had broken down. I didn't do another hotel visit for easily another year!! :P

A driver can be a god send with outcalls to houses.Mine sits around the corner until he hears from me ( usually after 5/10 mins after I have gone in the house )to say all is good.If he does not hear from me he will simply come knocking on clients door.Would not do it without him.Ok its another cost but well worth it x

I've always thought they were safer than incalls-I mean, you might get someone refuse to leave or something, you could get robbed and they know where you live...as long as you're careful nothing awful should happen with outcalls if you just go to hotels

That's fine but they may not respond as quickly as someone actually knowing what you are doing.
