Does anyone else get annoyed by this?

CatsEyes:
This could be an extension of the "What I get annoyed at but probably shouldn't" thread   :)

I just wondered if anyone else gets annoyed / niggled at guys requesting that you text or email them specially with your availability?

Often when someone enquires about an appointment and I can't accommodate that day, they request that I let them know via email or text my next availability. Some do it politely, some do it rudely and blatantly, ie "Pity. Be sure you text me when you are next working", but it always grates on me. Or they just text out of the blue saying they are "thinking" of making an appointment but have missed for that day, can I text them when I am next available.

I don't have time to go through 100s of text messages, emails , and call lists I get every few days and inform people when I will next be available.

I always reply politely asking them to check back on my website where it will be updated. Although I still get a lot of replies saying stuff like "I don't go online much, can you just text me when you are available please" , and some cheeky buggers specifying that I should tell them the availability but only between the hours of 8am and 5pm or something! How do I remember that?

I wouldn't refuse to see someone because of it, or be rude to them or anything, it's probably totally harmless behaviour, but for some reason it still grates on my nerves whenever I hear it!

However it still gets on my nerves. They just don't seem to realise that we have lots of people calling, not just them. Am I being unreasonable? (I am aware that is a huge possibility here  ;D)

Strawberry:
If I'm asked this I simply send my most current availability and advise to check with me on the day, or get back in touch when they do have a definite time & appointment length in mind and I'll advise if that is possible, or some other time.

casey_kisses:
No you're not being unreasonable. But just send a polite, templated text (so it doesn't annoy the hell out of you writing it each time) saying if you would like to book me please contact me between xx' If they don't get the hint then just ignore  :)

If it's a trusted regular then I may send them a text or something if they had specified that they wanted this, but definitely not with everyone who made an enquiry.
xx

CatsEyes:
I know, that is good advice thanks  :D

I usually send a (very polite) template text saying that as soon as I know my next availability it will be posted on {my website} and that I look forward to meeting them.

Mostly I never hear back from them again  :FF, except from sometimes more requests to tell them specifically the next time I'm available.

It's like if I don't hand-hold some people then they just don't book.

I also get a lot of emails and texts expressing vague appreciation of my profile and saying I would like to book some time, perhaps in 3 weeks time, and how do I go about it? or just "would love to book sometime with you?", No date, time, name, anything  :FF.

I'm an inpatient and busy bitch in my old age!. I just want to know a name, when and how long and any special requests in a non-pervy way, dammit! Without about ten back and forth emails or texts or a long dragging on conversation, where I have to painstakingly drag every last bit of basic booking detail out of them.

All you need do is reply acknowledging their contact, advising to get back in touch when they know they'd like to make a booking, and the details you'd require when they do.
