I've booked up to have a tummy tuck and lipo. I've been told to take it easy for 6 weeks but was just wondering how look it was before you want back to work?

i read somewhere that the results arent guaranteed, like it can become irregular, like some bits darker than others, like at that point some might rather keep it dark since at least its dark all over

For a combination of reasons, I've piled on the pounds over the last say 6 years which is both unhealthy and unsightly. Primarily now for health reasons, I'm very seriously considering getting a gastric band and maybe before Christmas. My question is to anyone out there whose had it done; how long on average did it take you to return to this type of work? What sort of problems did you encounter and with the benefit of hindsight, is there anything you might have done differently?

*I haven't 100% made up my mind on band surgery but I think it's the safest, most reasonably effective and reversible of the different forms of bariatric surgery. If anyone knows of any good surgeons in Surrey/London, please let me know! Thanks.x

First I'd say any decent surgeon would urge diet and exercise before you consider surgery.
A friend of mine had a band and had a lot of issues with the port - it basically got lost and they had to furkle around in her abdomen to find it. You'll have the scars from the keyhole surgery initially (I think three?), then the port scar will obviously be visible. It can take a while to get the tightness of the band right - too tight and you'll be nauseous/vomiting a lot, too loose and it won't be doing much good. Any alteration will require a trip to the clinic and access to the port. You might feel a lot weaker physically, at least initially.

Basically, short term at least, not great for a sex worker.

After reading the posts on this got to say, for sure if anyone was thinking of lipo, I would honestly try and do it the natural way. Losing weight may seem hard work but its so worth it, you save a ton of money and you wont miss getting work while you recover. I used to be 13 stone and I managed to do it (I am a toned size despite loving food so much! 

Also with regards to how much time to have after surgery, I think its always best to listen to your surgeon and most importantly your body. After both my boob jobs, I took my surgeons advice and took all the time off I needed, so maybe when planning surgery, plan it so theres no pressure on getting back to work asap. Not worth the risk

I have a few friends that have had the gastric sleeve/band done and although they have lost the weight the skin is loose and hangining and their boobs have sagged. They were much happier before surgery. This may affect your confidence when ur taking your clothes off with clients. There's nothing more sexier than a woman confident in her body. If your clients see you as a happy confident sexy woman they will keep returning  if you come across as insecure of your body that will put them off.

Best way is to make some simple changes in your life. Take time to go the gym and eat healthy. Its the best and safest option. I train 1hr a day 5xs a week for the last 2 years and have barely any body fat. Clients always comment on it too.overall it will make u alot happier and save u ton of money. Good luck

I had surgery on my forehead 9 weeks ago due to skin cancer. I'm using blemish cover up and rocking a dodgy fringe.
I think the best bet is to cover it the best you can but if you can't cover it, rock it! Be confident. Men love confidence. Just make sure you are physically well enough. That is the main thing..xx

I agree it's not the quick fix it appears, the weight lost is usually I think 50 % of excess which for the poster would be 3 stone. A 3 stone loss is quite achievable in 6-12 months using diet and exercise. Some gastric banders do rebound because they've not dealt with the underlying reasons, or cannot change their lifestyle.

I really can't emphasise enough to take recovery times with a pinch of salt , some are much much longer than they say .

It's really important to make sure you have the funds to cover time off.

I had my boob job a quite a while ago and whatever they said was Bull , it was only at around the 6 week mark I could catch my breath properly to hold a conversation , plus sleeping upright for a few weeks is not easy and the tight band and support bras etc .

I didn't go for a huge change, big enough but not massive , around 3 cup sizes , no uplift just under the muscle ( painful as they have to make the pockets ).

It felt like a had a ton of bricks on my chest and couldn't catch my breath ( apparently that's not uncommon )

If they're not under the muscle recovery is quicker but they will droop due to the weight .

All I'm saying is really don't take recovery times as standard.

I had a laparoscopy recently with some other surgery and got convinced before and after 6 weeks back to normal , I made an off the cuff comment to the Surgeon ( who had just finished his six week chat) about going back to a particular exercise and got a quick "oh no you can't do that , that'll be at least 3 months.

I was thinking heavy suitcase etc !

It wasn't a particularly strenuous exercise either .

Financially I've been crippled due to time off !!!

have tried many fad diets but still havent got the body of my dreams I would
like to get my breasts done but was also thinking of getting Liposuction too
which I do feel bit nervous about . Has any one had liposuction ?? was wondering

Getting back on subject.....   I had my nose done yesterday and I plan to take at least 4-5 weeks off. Always hated my nose but omg wasnt expecting to feel so bad afterwards. Its amazing just how one area of your nose can affect your whole face and even breathing/throat. I keep looking in the mirror and thinking would be so funny to arrange a meet and see how the client would react! haha. Been honest about it with my regulars and of course most said I didnt need it doing and a couple were sweet enough to send me a message wishing me luck. so recap, if anyone is thinking of having a nose job, for sure take at LEAST 4 weeks off. omg didnt realise I would be so bad after my surgery (like to think this is 'helpful' info on any ladies thinking of having a nose job) for sure do more research into how your gonna feel post op!! Like didnt realise my nose would be 100% blocked for at least 1-2 weeks after, meaning I have to breathe through my mouth which has made it very sore and hard to eat/drink. Also non stop bits of blood and snot coming out all the time lol.

I dont regret doing it at all as ive always hated my nose but feel very low and depressed at the moment. Very lonely too, so thank you for much for this website its been a godsend these last few days.

Trying to remain positive and look forward to starting work again. Aiming for March. Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far xxx
