Philip Kemp at the BBC has asked me to let you know that they'll be doing a show this weekend on scam agencies. It'll be on the Donal McIntyre show on Radio 5live at 8pm this Sunday. To those who were unfortunate enough to be scammed he has invited you to text or to call in with your stories. I'm sure their phones will be busy.

If you dont get to listen to it live then the BBC radio do have a facility where you can listen to shows at a later date.

Brandy is it ok for me to post this on other forums, such as the guild and escort buddys?

The focus of this radio show was about oap's being emailed and encouraged to join escort agencies as companions, paying a joining fee and then geting no work. The usual escort scam, but aimed at the older generation.

I would have liked to have heard them talk about similar scams which new ladies/men get tempted with, but maybe that isnt very pc for a radio show to talk about the selling of sex.

http://www.e-victims.org/ was mentioned and looks like a good site.

Yep, the primary story was the 'direct payments' changes to social services, with this given under ten minutes.

It was presented as the scammers emailing the victim, but I've never come across any spam from the various scams before, so I wonder if this was altered slightly. They also didn't name the scammers.

Still, perhaps someone will be saved some money even if the victim still managed to fall for it twice...
