Getting pissed off with prices.
« on: 17 January 2014, 01:47:15 pm »
I am currently at 100 an hour and put up a tab about pricing and how I will require extra travel costs.

Of course not a single jack arse will read that shit because that requires some form of EFFORT of their part.

Should I just up my prices to include rough travel costs or leave it as it is? I am getting way too pissed off and I feel myself tumbling a bit.

Try putting in a big purple bar across the top **PLEASE ENQUIRE ABOUT ADDITIONAL TRAVEL COSTS AS THIS VARIES DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU ARE LOCATED** , if you are on aw x

I literally just did this so I hope this helps.

If I find someone else gob smacked after finding out I charge extra for travel they will receive a verbal gob smack from me I swear!

Charging for extras often leaves guys feeling cheated, an out-call price should really cover a certain area as inclusive.

i have always set a price and I only cover a certain area which is included in the cost. I charge an extra ?30 for out calls than i do for in-calls and only offer an hour, this is shown on my profile. The extra cost reflects my travelling time and petrol costs. I do not travel further than I am happy too and will not do so even if they offer me extra money for my travel time / costs.

Should you be happy to travel further then it is worth mentioning on your profile that you only cover a certain area or that over so many miles you will charge more.

As you rightly say, guys hardly ever read tabs, so it is best to highlight in bold & colour the word Out-calls followed by your "rules", on your main profile page.

I think because I have a few things I need to pay off I have been clouded with stress with my prices and I have had no calls and its all been a bit too much :( I have a client a day for next weekish but it is at my reduced rates and without any travel costs included and I am traveling all over London. I don't expect to even make much profit. I have just been desperate to earn this money :(

Thats the only problem with London it takes that long to get anywhere it could literally take you 3 hours altogether to do a 30 min booking.

Personally I think you would get away with putting your rates up a bit as they are quite cheap for London.

Sadly theres just not as much call for Outcalls. I've been working for about 2 years now an the number of Outcalls I've had is probably less than 10.

Personally I would include the travel costs in my outcall rate if its local but if its further than local then you could have a tab explaining that you will require more.

I always think its best to have your full inclusive rate in the rates box to avoid any confusion and also to avoid anyone feeling ripped off. If a client is expecting an outcall from quite a distance then he would probably already expect to pay a little extra, just make sure you make that clear on the phone or email.

As soon as I know it's an outcall enquiry I explain about minimum booking for certain areas, and start quoting prices.

If i were you i would just add the travel costs in to the price ... probably confuses them having to add the two together .. because it's clearly on the same level as rocket science. If you were ever looking for an incall buddy then thats something I might be interested in as i'm wanting to work in London but not wanting to do it on my own.

Outcall rates tend to be higher than incall due to the added travel costs so why not just set up a price to include travel within a set distance and then state you will charge extra for any outcalls out of this area.
Also when doing this make the extra charges realistic so say add ?30 to your outcall price to cover normal travel and then an extra per mile out of that area
My outcall rate covers a 10 miles radius from my home address and I charge extra to go out of that area especially as my area is all motorway driving which I do not really like at night.
I personally would charge ?1 a mile out of the area you have specified as that actually works out at 50p a mile as you have to travel back as well.  Don't charge by time as some guys may be much closer but harder and longer to get to (unless you drive) so would find it rather cheeky being charged more for a shorter distance.

I'd keep it simple, ?100 incall, ?120 outcall up to a radius of 10 miles (or similar). Then (like Dani says) state x amount per mile or if using public transport then say to ask for a quote first. If using tubes then keep the radius to certain zones only.
