Hi, I would just like to inform other Escorts out there.. it may not happen to you, but I am sure he has done this to other girls.

This happened last week. A asian guy wanted to book me for a 4 day booking for ?8,000 he texted me on my work phone. I didn't have any credit so I texted him back on my personal phone which was my mistake.  He seemed like a nice genuine guy, he told me was worth 6 million etc, told me about himself, to be honest, I think I engaged into the conversation on the phone too long. And thought about ending the call as I think he got a kick out of chatting to me on the phone. He wanted to talk dirty and I said no.  He asked for my account details, so I gave him my old bank account details which is one is in debt. He said he would put ?8k in the bank all of it, and he wanted to send me a Bugluvari watch and wanted my address. I said no, I will collect it from you in person.  He would constantly ring me up during the day probably 5 on one day, and it got to the point! I was bored and fed up! so I said, put the money in my bank account then let's see if that happens because I didn't want to chat constantly on the phone and waste my time. I felt it was fake anyway so I started to ignore his calls from then.

When I didn't return his calls, he some how got my Mother's number, left a voice mail on her phone and said ' Hi, I want to make a payment for my booking!!' my Mum did not know I was an escort, though she was just in shock !! then she recieved another one which said ' I want my 4 day booking !!!' he was harrasing my Mum's phone and then sent her abusive texts.  How the hell did he get my Mum's number I don't know!

So I rang the Police, I ofcourse didn't tell her I was an Escort, I was embarrased... it was even harder to explain. She thought my Mum was making it all up about the calls, so she rang my number on her cell phone and it went as a missed call, then my mum's call diverted to this guy's number and he said 'Hello' so basically, he is intercepting my phone calls and I do believe for a few months he has been listening in on my phone when it has been switched on but not in use.   To be quite honest, my life has been turned upside down, the night before I went to the Police,  I invited a uni friend over and gave her directions... to my apartment and the night after at 12 past midnight, I saw a Asian guy who could of been him or someone he knew, because he was for sure looking up for my apartment block and followed the directions from given to my friend... I couldn't sleep after that. 

I have now had to move out of my apartment, I am in shock, I cannot sleep properly till it's sorted out properly.  The Police, found out I was a escort in London, and that he has denyed he has been intercepting my phone calls.   I think the Police really, can't be bothered to help me. Though, I'm trying to get it sorted out because I need a crime number and I need them to ring Orange for me so I can end my 12 month contract with them.  I have changed my number 3 times with Orange and everytime anyone rings, he answers!!! Friday, I rang Orange and gave my number and name, he sounded like the guy who was the stalker, so he went silent then ended the call. So I had to ring Orange again, got through then got cut off! So I rang again... now I'm guessing he's probably working for 'Orange' so I wanted to talk to a team leader or a manger, this 'team leader' wouldn't speak to me... he was 'busy' so they cut me off. I finally got speaking to someone but said the Police need to get in touch.

Sorry it's so long... I just want this bastard caught out !

Jeeez.... that is some weird shit!! You should definately insist more with the police  They HAVE to do something, surely?? Maybe try ringing orange from a different phone or a friends phone? If you explained your situation and gave your details they could maybe find out who was intercepting your calls? Obviously you don't have to tell them your business just say that someone was sexually harrassing you.

God, this sounds nuts. How can he be intercepting your phone calls and getting your contact numbers if he doesn't have your phone? Are there any techy ladies out there who could explain this - is it something we all need to worry about?

I know it is difficult but I would urge anyone who is being harrassed to tell the police, and tell them the whole story - you are not breaking the law or doing anything wrong and it is far easier for them to help you if they have the full story. I hope you get this sorted out, but do you (or Evie?) have a number for this guy you could post (last two digits missing) so that other ladies can watch out for it?

Good grief, this is a nightmare. I just talked to BF1, and he said to check to see if your phone has Bluetooth, he also said he is amazed how many people are wondering around with their Bluetooth on! If it is on, turn it off immediately! A host of horrible things can be done to your phone via Blue tooth.

For now he suggested getting another pre paid sim, and new telephone, and only giving this number out to important people who need to get in touch with you, and laying the other to rest until you can get things sorted out with Orange.

Amy's right. Harassment is an issue for the police and our job shouldn't stop them doing theirs. Some are more sympathetic to us than others and sometimes there's not much they can do, but with something as extreme as you've described it should definitely be taken seriously.

And if not the police then the Vice department. You'd be taken more seriously. If your local station doesn't have one, ask for the address of the one nearest to you.

It's surprising how little the police know about mobile technology. I was told to have a caller blocked by them - I already had a crime number and they said O2 would be able to block a certain number for me. I did once work in the telecoms industry and was pretty sure this isn't possible. Anyway, I did what they said and O2 confirmed they cannot block individual numbers from calling you. The only way is to get a Samsung handset which is useless since I have a Blackberry contract and need it!!!!

Not sure about the call divert thing though.

Oh and it takes time to trace numbers too - quite some time however they should be putting a harassment order on this guy.

I'm freaked out by the fact he can answer your calls and even call your mum simply by knowing your number. 
If he does work for Orange then my guess is, Orange has a legal responsibility towards their customers to ensure their staff don't abuse personal information of their customers. So if you can prove that he works for them, I bet they would be obliged to sack him.

But if that creep simply loaded down a software. Again, he's then using that software for fraudulent purposes which surely must be against the law.

Maybe a lawyer or even Citizens Advice Bureau could help with your rights. Because regardless of your profession, he's a stalker breaking the law. What you do for a living is not here nor there. This could have happenned to any woman he meets, giving him her phone number.

Which takes us to a new point. Guys like him can simply abuse any phone numbers advertised. That regardless of what precautions we take. Creepy.
