Judge Rinder, homes under the hammer, jerry springer, most haunted, I get really pissed off if a client shows up before the DNA results on Jeremy Kyle! I have actually told them to give me 5 minutes so I don't miss the result x

When I was working and sharing a flat with a couple of other girls in London we had this lovely coffee shop with free wifi literally a minute away.

So we used to sit there every day with our laptops, writing new ads, adultwork blogs and generally scheming!!  8)

Even the name of the place was absolutely perfect, it was called Hookah Lounge!

I started doing incalls about 2 months ago because of the income potential- just being in one place letting clients come to you really allows you to maximize your time.  At the same time I started taking online nutrition classes b/c I wanted to have something interesting and productive to do between clients or on slow days.  I have all week to take the designated course and test so I don't feel pressured on those crazy days when I'm booked solid from noon til 10.  I really like to learn and plan to also take language courses online in my spare escorting time.

If I've finished the courses already and have free time I'll do my accounting, bum around online or stalk Craigs List Honolulu and daydream haha.

A really good website for online courses is called coursera.org it's free and they have loads of courses on everything you can think of. The courses are partnered with universities around the world and for a lot of them you get a certificate once you've completed it. One that I did on pharmaceuticals had weekly quizzes, video lectures, homeworks and journal articles to read.

This sounds really interesting, Alice!

I spent a bit of time yesterday exploring duolingo and I really think that studying a foreign language will be best for me. I've got French, German and Italian started on there. But I am sort of torn between wanting to learn Italian (new to me) and improving my French. I think I will do both.

Language study appeals to me because it can be done in small chunks here and there, and in fact that's probably the best way to learn language.

If you have iTunes that you've got plenty of free podcasts for learning languages.
At least there used to be plenty last I used them 2 years ago:)

I'm on season 3 lol I'm tempted to watch the UK one's next, but they don't have Brandori... so I'm not sure they'll be as good!

Re. online courses - I would love to learn Spanish. With uni work I have next to zero free time anymore. If I get bored over the summer I might start to look for some podcasts.

I am just like others, if I'm focused on doing something, whether it's DIY or even watching a film! I can't stop midway and take a booking, I feel the need to finish what I'm doing first, so end up turning bookings down, which is ridiculous! So now I try to avoid committing to doing things that will result in me turning away work.

I am lazy, and have no self discipline, so online courses will be a money down the drain for me, but maybe when I'm older I would be more dedicated to doing them. I love the idea of doing exercise in the flat in between clients! That's a fantastic idea! I'm a serial offender for spending my day on the sofa day dreaming and on the internet, I've put on a lot of weight because of my laziness! If I could just get myself off the sofa and turn it into a regular routine - a lifestyle change - it would make such a difference!

I make no promises, lol, but I am definitely going to give this a solid try! Fingers crossed!

As for adding an idea, maybe a hobby, like art, painting, drawing, something your able to do in bits. xox

You know what, I heard so many good things about it and I've been meaning to look into it for ages! I really need to give myself a proper kick up the ass and do it!

What I ve been trying to do lately is brush up on my Maths using a free online learning platform Khan's Academy. As I've come to realise whatever mathematical knowledge I have from school is pretty sporadic and decided to start again via the Khans Academy site.

I wish I was more commited though as I go through phases when Im really good and doing it every day, to going for weeks without doing anything. :(

Me too!! As it doesn't require concentration AND makes you feel more energised.. ;)
I'm gonna have a look at that courser.org site too Alice, but I'm the same as a  lot of people on here, I'd patch the phone
if I was right in the middle of doing something (I probably would right now too until I've finished writing this lol )
So I'm gonna try and do the exercise thing first, put some good tunes on and hope for the best  ;D

The foreign language thing does seem to be working for me!

There are several apps that will let you practice in little chunks. I'm mostly committed to improving my French (this  means reacquainting myself with forgotten vocabulary and then improving my listening and speaking). Then, I am very slowly working on Italian - just a little bit a day.

The apps I'm using for the Italian (and French) are set up to do things 5 or 10 minutes at a time. I was going over some vocabulary on Memrise while a client was in the shower! It's all very game-like with these apps. Gaining stars or hearts or whatever for reaching small goals. And with French I am going a little further and seeking out other things I can read or listen to.

Anyway, all of this is something I can do in tiny bits here and there. Learning languages is better that way.

I like doyogawithme.com - there's free yoga videos of all types, lengths and level of difficulty so you don't get bored to quickly and even I can usually get a couple a day in :).
