What Justifies a Price Increase?
« on: 15 June 2016, 10:22:38 am »
I've been thinking about raising my 30 minute incall fee for a while now. I'll only raise it by ?20 from 50 to 70, but I'm just wondering whether it's a good business strategy. Most of my bookings are 30 mins and this morning I had a look at other local girls prices and for 30 minutes most of them charge around 70.
I don't want to sell myself short but I don't want to dissuade people either.
I still plan to charge my regular regulars my old price, only put the new price in for new clients. I've been in this job for 7 months now, so how many of you have increased your prices and is this a good time of year to do it? Also, I guess what's made me think about this more is I've just lost a really good regular. Is it a case of potentially working less but making potentially more money?  ??? Thoughts please  :)

Are you busy enough that you're turning people away?

You may find that it makes little difference. If you do five bookings that's an extra hundred. If you only do four bookings you're skill up by 30.

And keeping regulars on old rate should mean that you won't lose them.

This, if you are constantly overbooked (that's more bookings than you can accept), then I'd raise prices.

That's the general rule if you are getting a ton of bookings you're probably too cheap and that's why you get so many bookings. Raising your prices in that case isn't going to do much since you'll be at average prices you already did some research on how you compare to other prices I usually try to look at similar girls and how they do business to work out if my rates are competitive not cheaper but competitive. In any case if you're doing well then raise your prices you won't lose that many clients probably maybe you'll put off a few idiots and bargain hunters no big deal. I wouldn't lower my prices for anybody though not even regulars you already hooked them in. If they like you enough to be a regular a price increase isn't going to change things they are more likely to just leave anyway when they get bored so might as well make money from them.

Yep, I don't think it's about justifying, but about getting the right level of work for you.

I only do this part time, so the only time I have to turn down bookings is when I'm doing other stuff in my private life. However, I am due to get another income soon because at the moment this is my only job. I'm not someone who frequently turns down bookings even at the best of times.

My rate increased last year just to bring myself in line with the average for my area. New clients were no wiser to my increase and paid up easily. Existing clients either volunteered to pay the increase or queried it and depending on how regular I saw them I said that is the new fee "for next time"  or told them I would not increase it for them. I have not done much to check up but any of them who were not happy with with the only slightly higher rate had the choice of going elsewhere but I have not seen a big drop in clients.
What I did not do was to announce it anywhere on my profile to draw attention to it. Some existing clients often do not look at our profiles once they have met us, they just keep our number and contact us that way so would not be aware of any increase, I think also that some pretend they have not seen the increase in rates. As long as all new clients pay the higher fee I am happy.

We can charge any fee we want but keeping it reasonable for the area we work in makes sense. I have never lowered my fee for any reason and would not but that is just me, I do not do offers or bargain days etc.  If they work for other girls fine but it is not something I have found the need to do.  My best offer if anything is letting long term regs have the old rate and they will see that as some kind of loyalty arrangement.

Lately I've been thinking of doing a 60/80 for 15 mins/30  as I'm finding some book 30 minutes and want everything, some even try and go over as its my minimum booking for 70 and then others who pay for half hour and are in and out within minutes, it doesn't seem fair. What puts me off is that I don't want clients to think all fees are negotiable and to start getting harassed by barterers, which I rarely get nowadays.

No justifying involved, if you're getting so much business you can't handle then up your rate and see how it goes.
I did this about two months ago, my 30 minute rate was ?50 and my two hour rate was ?200 along with me three and four hour being ?300/?400 and I was booked for all the times I worked and had a lot of enquiries both email and phone I had to take my phone off AW for a while for it to calm down.

I upped my 30 min rate to ?70 and my two, three and four hour increased by ?20. It did help me manage it more. Try it out for a while and see how it goes, there's always someone out there willing to pay for you but whether or not you'll be busy you won't know until you try :) x

What about going from 50 to 60?It's only a tenner but means you will still be making that bit extra while still being competative as alot of the other ladies in your area are 70 for the 30 mins. That will help you to gauge if raising your rates works well for you.

Fuck it, do it without worry, I charge ?80 and do fine. Slow days will always happen but folk wanting a butt loada ?80 will always happen too. Don't base slow days on you're price i've been low prices and high prices done the same financially unless of course you're charging ?200 for a half hour lol. More clients don't mean more money. I would agree that setting a certain standard in your service aka nails, hair, makeup, eyelashes & decent lingerie & clean posher place & friendly sexy services means higher price but you'll get people charging less for more and more for less so fuck it ?70 will be fine as it's within reason

Just look at what the other girls in your area are charging. If you are a lot lower, then raise them a bit. x

I charge ?70 /15m and ?100 for ?30 and ? 140 or ?150 depending on area for 1h

I'm quite highley priced for my areas but I normally hit my target 3 in day and 3 in evening unless it's a dead day.

I increased it from 120h and added the other rates later I find plenty people don't have a problem

I charge the top end for my area and i upped my price 2 month ago. Before this my phone would ring so many times a day so it made sense. My business has been just as good.
I charge even more in London and up it by ?50 on tour because london it super expensive. All you can do is give it a try.
