Yep so you can write on your blog if you read a book by Lee Child without being suspended  ;D.
Indeed! You can also blog about how much you enjoyed George Oswell's Animal Farm! ;D

I think so, yes. AW can go down, if nothing else. Best of all I can say exactly what I want to say, and if you add reciprocal banners you can get free listings on some other sites.

Also, when I get a generic text enquiry, I always put the URL in my response (keep it short and snappy!)

Finally, anyone can create an AW profile or a VivaStreet ad in a few minutes - I think having your own website adds a bit of reassurance that you're a professional.

Hey everyone! I tried looking up this on the search engine but the only results were from 7 years ago! Basically I was looking at various escorts websites and i was wondering is there a big benefit to having one rather than just having a Adult work (which is currently where i get all my work from) ? Im thinking of making one but Id like to check if its worth it before I start! xxx

There's the Working Without Adultwork thread, as well as the Where to Advertise one, for starters :).

I can't imagine thinking there can be any advantages to only having one ad in one place but then if I relied on AW I'd starve, and my website brings me far more work for all the reasons everybody has already posted plus I can promote it how and where I want and have complete control over how it looks and what it says. Even if I didn't have a website I wouldn't rely on one ad, and most especially not one on a site with form for falling on its arse for days on end and a propensity for dumping people's ads without warning.

I cannot remember the last time I had an actual booking via the online form there and 90% of the emails I get are a complete car crash; I've met countless punters who don't trust it and won't use it and they tend to be far less hard work because they've normally read my ad properly. I don't even really blame them for skimming when all the pages look the same.

I will not repeat what the other girls said but I fully agree with them.

For me, having my own website has actually been an important step in my escort career.

A  question for those of you your own website! Is it worth it? Do  advertise elsewhere and do you  get many bookings from it?

Definitely worth it, you do have to put effort in. I set a time aside one day each week to update information on it, only takes about 5 minutes to change availability. Need a bit longer when changing photos, or writing blogs.

One thing I will add is don't bother with the adult work website as it costs a lot more than any other site and basically duplicates your adult work profile you cant really add a lot else .

Yep also if you fall foul of AW and have your profile suspended or worse (which let's face it is pretty easy) then you'll lose the website as well.

A website is good if you advertise on Vivastreet, too. You can be explicit on your website.

Yes they make the rules up as they go along and are on the punters side more than the girls.  I don't see why seen as they most probably get more money from us than them from webcam and phone chat work and private galleries  to featuring and listing numbers. I'd love to see a report on their annual profi !

It's good for marketing and gives you more options on what you can do than a profile site, AW tends to be full of spam and pests too so having a website I've found lets genuine clients know more about you and shows you are serious about what you do. If you are going to have your own website you should make it a good one though no point going into it if you are going to make something that looks like crap. It's good to have a blog on your website too allows you to show something of yourself and your working persona and not use something like twitter where people can stalk you or people you know can link it to your real name.
