Jade:Why I Chose Porn

I just watched this on Iplayer. A university graduate making porn for a living.

Warning - hugely patronising voice-over! Also a lot of what she said sounded hugely over-scripted.

I found it quite interesting as I'm at a similar age and I have no idea what porn industry is like. From watching this I'm not persuaded its any better.

I've just watched it and I think at least we only have to spend half an hour/an hour with guys. That last shoot she did when she didn't click with the 'stud' was quite painful to watch and when we feel the same at least it's over with more quickly.

Thanks for posting - it was informative and an area of the industry I don't know much about.

Just finished watching. It was very interesting, and was a very professional video, enjoyed watching, maintained my interest throughout.

The voice over is a bit patronising but would not say hugely at all, far from it; and the interviewer was a very intelligent lady who tried the best to give a balanced view.

I really that it is an original piece of work and of high quality.

I watched that too- it was really interesting and I found myself nodding in agreement at a lot of the things she said throughout.
But, OMG - the bleeding, the long, long hours shooting and travelling , her earlier work, and the bareback....
I found myself wondering "why don't you just be an escort?" after she did a breakdown of costs and it worked out all in as around ?10 or less an hour  :o :o she could still do her porn and filming that way, plus she could tour the states too if that's where she dreams to make it big, but also make more money and have more control over the men she has to sleep with... I was literally wincing in pain FOR her when she was talking about her new co-stars huge dick and the blood going everywhere for about 20 minutes and then going on to finish the shoot :o
Wow, good documentary - yeah, the voice over lady was a bit patronising, BUT she had a couple of good points when she was said jade was contradicting herself, she did seem pretty conflicted imo.
Interesting. But porn is defo NOT for me!
Stacey dooley sex in strange places was good too btw x

I would recommend also: Respectable, The Mary Millington Story, on Netflix.

I watched it last night and I was glued. It shows the tragic demise, at 33 of Britain's first and most popular pornstar of the 1970s with lots of interviews. KDB is interviewed as well along with lovers, friends and family from Mary's life.

Let me know what you think.

Quite. I know people vary, but as far as I can see...

Reasons to do porn: very slight chance of being famous / rich, can use 'porn star' in escort advertising.

Reasons not to: almost everything else.
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

Such a fascinating documentary about her life.
And without being all 'Fangirl' KDB is naturally stunning and I totally got what she was saying.
