I was thinking about a means of easy communication and a means of creating meet ups in London. I'm doing this because lots of us seem to spend lonely hours in lonely hotels, and a better means of using this time would be to meet up and not be lonely! A lot of us are in the same position who have not told friends about our occupation, so this could provide some sort of outlet, where we aren't covering our footprints, where we can be honest about our experiences, share advice, have a glass of wine, or a few cocktails. I'm not suggesting a club, but just a medium by which when someone is free, can message, and get an instant reply, meet up, and relax.
I've been thinking about this occupation and what implication it has for sense of self. It used to bother me that what I was doing was clearly all for male pleasure, and that I was dependent on men to become economically independent and fulfil my goals. I've rationalised this on the basis that, I cannot financially succeed in the normal world of work, dominated by men, structured by men, made by men, for men. As a result, I have been deviant and sought to become financially independent, quickly, with ease, and with skill, doing something I enjoy and am good at. It's sad (maybe not?) that in this particular industry women make more than men, and sometimes more than their clients. I query whether it is in fact sad because it's just the way things are. I see this work as exploiting the circumstances to be successful, whatever that definition of success may be.
I feel that this is almost an intuition I share with other females who are escorts, and it would be great to not just be in the company of men.
I know that the breakfast for sex workers in Bethnal Green already exists, but I'm seeking a platform to provide a planned instant and spontaneous meet up. But if a group like this already exists please make me aware!
I'm not sure how we would go about setting this up. Obviously, we would need some form of verification to ensure we aren't attracting stalkers and the like, given that this is a forum. Perhaps those interested could send a pm with their details and I could call to ensure the truthfulness of their identity? Then set up a whatsapp groups. Suggestions welcomed!
