I believe that for people paid monthly pay day starts somewhere after 25th of the month / last Fri of the month. Maybe another lady can advise on that?

At various civvy jobs I've worked, I've been paid on:
The 26th (or if that falls on the weekend, the previous Friday)
The 28th (as above)
Last working day of the month (as above)
Last Friday of every month

With February being a short month, I'd expect most people will be paid on Tuesday next week, but some will have already been paid by Monday.

I started out as an indie with my student loan financing my stockings and Ann Summers sale undies, doing outcalls only because I had a flatmate at the time. You really don't need a lot of money to start out. I think the most expensive thing I bought when I started was a pair of heels.

I recall at one point in my life, I did speak to an agency, but they made a negative comment about me having tattoos so I pretty much sacked that idea.

Like VC says, payday can be a variety of days for people. But I would also say to bear in mind that some people can be inclined to hold off until their bills have came out as well. It's like any luxury item/something you want to spend money on, you wait until you've paid your mortgage etc then you see what you have left over. Some clients are financially stable enough that ?100+ isn't that much of a stretch for them, but others do have to save.

A fair few are retired too, so payday is irrelevant :)

I don't actually find it makes much difference to me what week it is and I'm not convinced that many punters live in this month-to-month way, but then I don't live in a particularly affluent area plus a lot of people here are paid weekly anyway.

I'd crack on with getting some indie ads sorted, but I agree with those that say limiting your hours might be a big part of it. I don't really know why, but I tend to associate agencies with evening bookings rather than daytime ones.

Which explains why all my bookings this week have been pensioners :D

Actually I think at least 2/3 of mine have! I suppose they don't give a toss about school holidays, either.

Hi Zara!

What comes across to me (as someone that has worked as an escort for two decades, on and off  :) is that you seem to think that being an escort = easy money with no effort (not trying to be mean here).

This used to be the case, but really isn't any more due to the vast numbers of girls all trying to do the same thing. You have to stand out and make a little more effort than the rest to see good returns - joining an agency and accepting their "ho, hum" replies isn't going to cut it if you want to earn. Of course they are going to make excuses to you about why they aren't getting you work - it's in their interest to keep you on their books exclusively. Be careful though or you might find you're still receiving the same response from them come August. (it's the school holidays, no one books now) etc.

It's not nice to hear I know but if you want to get work you need to put some effort in. It's not enough just to join an agency and sit back any more. Either join several and chase them up daily or go indie and accept that does mean speaking on the phone to people from time to time. Xx

I agree, better she invests some effort and energy into it rather than sitting back relying on an agency whos receptionist most likely don't give a shit about anything other than getting paid. As for putting ?'s in the purse agencies maybe OK if you are the company/receptionists flavour of the month otherwise you can find yourself way down the line getting all the shitty jobs and punters nobody else wants.

I'm having trouble understanding how someone can be exclusive with an agency.

Aren't agencies illegal in the first place? If so, they can't get damages or anything if you work as an indy.  If the worry is that they'd drop you... Well... if they have genuine slow periods, are they really scouring ads to improve theirs, etc?

If it were me, I'd start writing up my ads, getting pics in order, etc, and plan to work under a different name with blurred face pics. While keeping the agency job.

When I started out I worked for 2 agencies straight away. It was stressful at times, but at least I had regular weekly income. Very soon I became indie and still worked for 2 agencies for a few years. I had quite huge bills and debt to pay and I couldn't afford to have slow weeks. It worked very well for me.

The longest I had no booking from an agency was 3 months ( I was available 5-6days a week, 3weeks a month and very flexible with my time.
