Getting in the mood...to write
« on: 25 February 2017, 01:06:29 am »
I've been gone a little over a year and now that I'm back I really need to write some new ads. The problem is, I've just been in a relationship and it's really hard for me to think of ways to say I just LOVVVVVVVE bubble baths and random cock.

I've got my website and ads up with the basics, but they're so much more effective when there's more substance. Any suggestions on how to get the self-promotion ball rolling?

I had difficulty with this when I started. Everything I wrote came off as either fake as hell or totally cheesy.

In the end I had a couple of drinks and re-wrote my profile while I was a bit merry, then checked it again when I was sober. Can't say it's a particularly healthy way to go about it, but it did release my inhibitions!

I still do, and it took me almost as long to write the text for my new(er) website than it did my first one. I can't do sexy in any remotely convincing way, so I tend to stick to the information they need and try to write it in an upbeat and approachable way rather than pretend to be something I'm not and then get found out ;D.

It's tougher where you are because you can't be straightforward about services too - I've seen some ads when I've been in the US that made me wince because of the talk of 'dates', ' donations' (or even better 'gifts') and so on, but I completely understand why they have to do them like that.

I'd try to describe yourself accurately in the sort of way you'd expect somebody else to (not in the third person though) if they'd met and liked you. If that makes sense, and I'm not convinced it does.

I missed the fact that OP is in the US.

In that case OP I'd suggest this: Open an account on OKCupid, and answer the profile questions (e.g. how would you friends describe you, what 4 things couldn't you live without) and make that your profile, but answer the questions as if you were looking for a lot of no-strings sex.

What's wrong with saying your newly single because you like bubble baths and random cock - men would love that ! Lol
Have a read of a few adverts before you start to write to get some ideas going :)
