** Update, as things stand the Eros Guide has put my profile up after I sought advice from a Swiss solicitor (ex client) and noticed them to repair the situation. They have been very conciliatory. I am of course very nervous still, but it seems it is possible to work with them. **

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the best place to put this, so sorry moderators if I am wrong.

I literally invested my last savings into placing a few ads on The Eros Guide to NYC for the next few weeks that totalled to around ?1300.

Today I just put my main ad up to shortly receive an email that my account was closed, and there would be no more discussion. That they wish me well in the future. I was associated with another account that came into bed repute and that I would not be able to advertise with them again.

Complete nonsense, I have only advertised with them twice without any issues and have been fully verified.

I have sent them my passport, photos of me with said passport, reviews, my website e.t.c.

They will not refund me any of my money, nor enter into any reasonable conversation. They say the matter is closed.

I have used them twice in the past without any problem or associated with any other account.

It is as simple as that.

I am completely traumatised, firstly it is ?1300 blow to the wind that I can't loose and is non-returnable. Secondly, they hard sold me ?1300 of advertising for my tour knowing which account it was associated with, and now get to keep the money and sell the services again. You have no idea how much they pushed this on me too.

This is the USA's biggest directory but seems like a scam. They have ruined an expensive tour and stolen money.

Please beware, girls, I'm sitting at home shaking in tears right now feeling sick to my stomach.

I've moved this here LPG, so that people can maybe make suggestions if they've had similar or can think of anything :)

It seems very odd - I've used Eros for years and they're always very helpful (because they want the enormous amounts of money it costs to advertise there). You don't think it could have been a spoof site?

Failing that if calling them isn't practical have you tried their live chat? They should be on now since it's earlier there - hopefully somebody can tell you what's going on.

You may have written that you did illegal services in your ads went you sent them for approval.

The onus lies on you, it's their T&C's. I doubt that Eros wants to speak to you about it as they are saving their own asses by not engaging in talk about illegal activities, but give them a call - their customer service is very nice.

Worst comes to worse, tell them that you are applying for a chargeback through your credit card provider (as they will not tell you why they took your money and then failed to provide services, they must) and need the contact details for accounts then to give to your bank.

Eros can be dogs. They accidentally put me in the trans section as it puts you in places with computer codes which were done correctly. It was coming up in my google results and clients were legitimately thinking I must be (as Eros is a trusted brand, they knew it better than me). They said it's no big deal, it will go away. I screencapped an email where the client was asking about it and they deleted my account as within the email there was me confirming a service in the previous reply they could see. It did not occur to me at all that they would even care - their rules regard their legal status. They didn't even tell me, I had to log into my Ad and see there was no username, and then go into my associated email and see a genetic auto email.

Basically, I asked them if they were going to go through every girls website internationally that listed reviews and services and delete them as it breaks US law? Or are they just going to apply the rules to advertising on their site and keep their business out of transactions once they leave Eros.

I'm not sure if they will allow international girls to tour America and advertise there if their UK website is listed and it openly says services. All I know is that they are OK with UK girls having sexual based websites, so long as there is no mention to Eros or at any time when communicating with them.

Got back on after I pointed out the hypocrisy of being a long term advertiser my website openly stating services but a private email screenshot when discussing their screw ups as a business was somehow relevant?

I suggested using the Live Chat not just because what could be a long phone call to the US is expensive but also because that way it's on record. You can get a copy of the transcript sent to your email so there's no 'he said, she said' :).

In my experience they don't just dump ads and ban people for a minor T&C breach - I've had wording and photos removed that they didn't like and all that happened was they didn't approve the ad and emailed me to say why. The OP said they'd connected her ad with a dodgy one amd there's no reason for her to say that unless it's what they told her.

I've always linked my site when working in the US and never had a problem.

Meanwhile, definitely do the chargeback if you paid by card, although depending on how long you're away for I'd be inclined to leave it until you get back.

So sorry. That exact same thing happened to me a few months back.

I have used them for years without issue. All over the Us and in the U.K.

All my legit information and never had an issue. Halfway through my advert they shut my account down with the same reason. When I called various reps to ask what was going on they were rude and dismissive to me. I was genuinely in tears. They didn't give a shits

Just to clarify it had nothing to do with my wording or any small T&C breach. They were very clear that it was because my account was linked to one that came into bad repute. That exact phrase.

Op of you want to chat you're welcome to DM me x

Yes, just so you are all aware it's nothing to do with any inappropriate language and the "breach" is without merit or evidence. It is totally fictitious. I made a website and wording, especially for the US market, which is very cautious.

I am taking steps for legal action since I can't say goodbye to ?1300 when I have done nothing wrong and will loose on grievously on this two-month tour.

Still completely brick-walled by staff, that were so friendly to me when spending the money!

I really thought they were legit organisation   >:(

Only credit cards they can charge back if the company in question was at breach of contract. If It was a visa debit card it is more difficult. Since the end of February I did mine with visa. And have got another 45 days left to go. It is awful when money goes from us.

Banks don't make it easy.

All I can think of is phone trading standards to seek advice, that is what I did. And look on the internet but our laws I think the US don't have to go by?. They have got their own.. The company I did a chargeback with was in Europe.

All I will say is the process after the bank putting a chargeback in. Is that the company can dispute if they do you will need to tell the bank more information as to how this company was wrong. Answering what they said if you can't it has happened before with some others the money is lost.

It is a bit like the bank being court and you will need to battle this out.

Paris they basically make it impossible to have 2 profiles with them it's deffo not that babe. The most they would expand (they were SO rude on the phone) was to say it was associated with someone bad no idea if that means I follow them on twitter, have them as a duo buddy on my website or what.

I spoke to 4 different reps when this happened to me. Reps who had been amazing for years before hand who flat out told me to get over it and bye. Very much like AW tell you to piss off you aren't entitled to advertise with them.

It's not a case of bad wording or photos they normally give you a warning though Ive never even had one as had the same text and images for a good while.

I know they are legit but they way they are acting is bang out of order. You don't want us to advertise then okay fine. But don't upsell packages then ban a person keeping a whole bunch of their hard earned cash.

Hi there, just reading this and how awful Eros have been to you!
Like Paris said I'd push to find out exactly what this mysterious account of ill repute is, so you can clear your name.
Mind you I see it has been 2 weeks since your last post so I'm hoping you've had some good news since...?

This is now the second thing to put me off advertising on there for the US.  I mean, I could be following someone on twitter or have a link to someone on my site that is of 'ill repute!' It's flippin' ridiculous! I hate guessing games like this, just be straightforward and clear!

It's probably worth just having a perfectly plain website purely for touring the states with no link / banners twitter on it

I was thinking this as I wrote it. Probably just hiding links pages and remove the word 'escort' all throughout your website.
However, it would be helpful if they told you what their issues actually are.  It's really time consuming to do all these things and then you may find out you are still a problem to them for one reason or another!

I've used the eros guide on and off for years and from experience they are extremely cautious and careful. When they smell a rat regarding trafficking, dodgy of any sort, illegal  stuff etc... They will close your account down in less than a New York minute. No explanations given. Similar to backpage they operate in conjuction with law enforcement, and from what I know they get subpoenas often. That means LE asking them for information on certain advertisers during investigations (mostly agencies). I don't know what's the OP's story because I don't know her, but if her account was related in some way to an account that got closed or was being investigated I can see EROS closing her account. What I don't get is why they didn't return her money, but I believe there's a "Terms & conditions" part that you sign when you pay for the ad that states in small letter something in the lines of "If we don't like you for x reasons we'll close your ad and not refund your money".

Hi, just wanted to ask. Do you use Eros for UK market? How this works?
