I wish I had know about saafe. As I got tricked by the London overnight scammer and sexually attacked by him when very young and as a result it affected  me a lot in my life with work and ptsd and having bad dreams at night. It was an awful experience that could have been avoided had I found saafe much sooner. I'm just glad I found it to be honest as it's prevented so many more bad experiences for me and helped me with so much.

I am so glad for SAAFE, he's also contacted me multiple times. I hope you're having better times now.

Something I wish I knew when I started: there are TW who will come across as so nice and professional on the phone, it's really not an indication they will book and pay. If a guy starts talking dirty on the phone, cut him off with "Please call me when you know what time you'd like a booking" and if he starts asking what you do, memorise the phrase "That information is on my profile."
And me, I am not a mess, I am a wilderness, yes
The undiscovered continent for you to undress

Oh god that's another one. I used to have such long phone calls would sometimes be on the phone for like 15 mins before I got them off the phone. I so wish I found saafe sooner as I didn't even know if the phrase timewaster back then. I grew up and led a very sheltered life I was private schooled for most of it then home schooled for the rest so I never realised people are actually not nice people and was way too trusting. I got royally fucked about something chronic! This job was a massive wake up call for me. X

When I came back to working and was getting ready to go full time (ten years ago next month!) I'd had a good grounding in the phone numpties from advertising in the papers years before, but I had no clue about the internet or email fantasists and used to answer every single one ;D.

I also remember taking my phone with me even when I went for a wee just in case I missed a call. Although I'll admit to still doing that if I'm touring  :).

Oh god that reminds me I didn't know of such thing as copy and paste fantasists that send the same email to everyone until I made friends that were in the same job and they mentioned this email and I would say I had the same! Reminiscing about the hard times eh  ;D

Wish I had known just how addictive this work was going to be for me. Glad it was because it has got me in a financial position I could never have achieved in any other job. Previous employment was decent enough work as secretarial and office management but bored the pants off me and I just scraped by on the salaries.

Wish I had known that several years down the line it almost scares me to realise I would be lost without the thrill of this work. Is that sad?

Wish I had known how addictive this job is... the money is too tempting to leave.

I wish I'd known that this job was feast or famine!

When I first started out about 14 years ago I blew my money on having fun: trips to Rome, Prague, and Boston. Shopping, drinking champagne because the Weakest Link was on! (I'm such a weirdo.) It was fun though. Life seemed like a never ending party.

Then I got older and the quiet times came. There were months when I didn't earn anything and I ate beans on toast while wondering how I was going to pay the rent.

If I could talk to my younger self I would tell her to put away 30% of all earnings after tax. Save up for that rainy day because it will come unless you keep on top of the marketing and tweak it as you (and your body) change.
