RECOMMEND AN AGENCY please!!!!

Hi all, yep, I am a newbie and sadly have been scammed and I apologise if this topic has been posted before- thought I was intelligent but hey ho, live and learn...whish I had found this site before I paid my money!!

Anyway, now I am here, could anyone please tell me of a legitimate agency, tried google, but still not convinced.  I live in Mid Wales, but willing to travel if necessary.

I can't recommend one, because I have no idea what the situation is there.

If I wanted to know I'd approach it from the point of view of a client and see who's advertising in my local papers / what comes up on a Google search (but beware the 'escorts wanted' ads!) / look on the client message boards for reviews ('field reports') for my area.

If you can't find any agencies that way, how are real clients going to do so?

Advice? Don't go into male escorting. There never was much call for it. And in this economic climate there's even less call for it now. Us ladies are feeling the pinch ourselves. But that's just my advice as a woman. Why don't you google a couple of male escorts with websites and drop them a line for some advice.

Provided you understand that escorting almost always involves being sexual with clients, you have a wide choice of agencies. London has hundreds, even if some of them are different names for the same operation.

See above and elsewhere for the basic advice in drawing up a shortlist to approach.

I read this in the nick of time. I was due to pay my fees first thing in the morning. Thank you so much guys. It sounded too good to be true hence the reason for sitting up this late trying to get info on it lol

Now I am faced with the same dilema. How do you know that the company you are approaching is a decent one that will look after you. Could anyone please suggest an agency to approach. I have sat on Google search for 2 days now trawling through various sites.

You can find out whether an agency is genuine or not by checking for the things I wrote about here: http://www.saafe.info/main/index.php?topic=385.0

Once you know that an agency is genuine, it's harder to work out if they'll look after you or not. One things to look for is if they want to meet you in person, that's a sign of a professional operation (provided they don't then ask you to take your clothes off or give someone a blow job!).

A good agency should confirm the location of a caller by checking their landline matches up with their address or by calling them at their hotel. They'll then want to hear from you when you've arrived and collected your fee, and again after you've left to confirm you're ok and get feedback on the client. If there have been any previous issues with a client, they should let you know.

You could ask them about their procedures, but of course they could lie. My advice is unless you have a reliable recommendation, sort out your own security precautions until you get a feel for the agency.

If you tell us where you're based and if you're a niche escort (eg mature), someone might be able to give you a recommendation. We don't have many agency girls here though so you might need to find out yourself by trial and error.

Well, I think you're making a very foolish choice. This is a very common scam which has been practiced for years and years, targeting people looking for various kinds of work from telecommuting to escorting. This isn't like investing in the stock market or making a bet on a horse, it's like putting ?300 on a street cup and ball game. You will get nothing for your money, guaranteed. I just received an email from someone who says she registered with them a month ago and has got no work and no answers when she calls them.

Richard Branson didn't get where he is by throwing money at anyone who told him what he wanted to hear!

I suppose you could use the argument that people often use to explain why they play the lottery even though they know it's 'a tax on people who are bad at maths': "I know I won't win the jackpot, but I'm willing pay ?1 for the dream". Except in this case the cost is much greater, the chances of winning are lower, and the dream isn't as good.

Escortopia is not the most believable agency. The most believable ones are the ones that have been around for years, follow established legitimate business practices, and have reports from clients. Unfortunately they don't employ men, but there's a very good reason for that, they won't make any money finding work for men!

You're infinitely more likely to get work by spending the money on classified ads in your local paper. (Even if you're a man looking to escort women, in which case the chance is almost zero, as they nearly say in The Princess Bride, 'almost zero' is better than 'zero'.)

Look at the site with the eyes of a client. How do you book someone? By looking at the gallery. How do you see the gallery? By paying the scammers piles of money... How many people do you think do that?

Anyway, I've a much better use of the money for you. It seems that the government are now so desperate for money that they need to start selling things, and there's this bridge you might know, goes up and down near the Tower of London, that's for sale and they've asked me to sell it quietly...

If you wouldn't give me the money for that, don't give the dogs behind Escortopia (and a host of others) a penny.

Rat paella probably, as this is one of the group of scams run by people in Spain.

The reason I say it'll be zero is that their scams involve you paying hundreds of pounds for an ad that only you can see! They say it's published "on the members section of the website", but I have never seen any victim say that they can see other victims' ads.

If they could contact each other, it'd enable them to get together and for obvious reasons, the scammers wouldn't like that.

I just paid ?219 to Escortopia. What a fool!  They said they had a job for me but it never came to anything.  Is there anyway i could get my money back?  Does anyone have a genuine escort agency they could recommend?
