Receptionist???
« on: 16 August 2017, 11:08:42 pm »
Has anyone ever hired a receptionist to take calls? when with a client is difficult to answer calls which could mean you may loose a few clients whilst touring. Just wondered if anyone has hired anyone.

Never - I wouldn't trust anyone else to do my screening for me.

Like the other lady said I wouldn't trust anyone to do the screening for me. As an independent with great need for feeling safe in all aspects it wouldn't be a good idea I believe. The receptionist isn't seeing the client you are. I have always answered my own calls and I have no problems in getting regulars which means that as long as you are polite about it and keep it brief they don't mind.

However with the above said, I will only answer a call whilst with a client if the call is from another client who has already booked and I am expecting him soon so if it's a random number calling me I will leave it and call back as soon as I am free. My profile also does advise to call me back if I don't answer first time.

If you were to answer your own calls then make it known respectfully and you'll be fine.

Whatever you do your safety is paramount.

I know someone who has a receptionist and it's working quite well for her. She books all her hotels.. manages her diary ads and vets the calls and deals with TW's so I wondered if anyone else had. Personally I think if you find someone reliable it's a very good idea and your more organised. I don't like looking at the phone or texting whilst a client is there but a receptionist could inform the client of any delays ect.

I've mentioned it plenty of.times before, but my phone has a call blocker which cuts off calls when I'm busy and sends a text telling them when to call back. It works very well and means not having some random decide for me with whom I'm going to have sex - punters don't have to feel ignored amd they can call back when I'm there to answer. I agree that the majority calling an independent will expect to speak to the person they're booking at least at some point.

If you're going to hire somebody bear in mind that if you pay them per day you might wind up out of pocket if it's quiet but if you pay per booking then they have a vested interest in getting as many through the door as they can because they'll be paid more, as with an agency pimp. And like an agency pimp, they'll be breaking the law.

That's a very good idea amy. I need to look into that.

I use an autoresponse. Genuine clients always text their requirements.

I wouldn't want anyone organising my business for me as I can do it perfectly well myself and someone else deciding who I will have sex with is completely out of the question.

I would like to use this app you have. Can you kindly pm me the name as I am not sure if we are allowed to mention it on this board please Amy.

Thank you.

Plus I think a lot of guys have been ripped off this way and also it's only fair they want to get a verbal feel for you too .

If I was a guy I wouldn't book via someone else ever .

I missed these posts - apologies! Although anybody who does a search for 'call blocker' will get a lot of results :)

Mine is 'Call Blocker Pro' and I'm not sure whether it's even still available, but there are loads. Just Google something like 'android call blockers sms blockers' and you should find plenty; others I remember are Mr Number and Blacklist. I can't help with anything that involves giving Apple money.

It's obviously not as helpful from a screening point of view, but it's not useless either - if they reply to the autotext with 'u fuk big cock bbe' (or similar) you can just swiftly block their number straight away without ever having to waste your time speaking to them (just to block their number anyway) :D

If the one Amy mentioned isn't available, try "Auto SMS Lite" which is free. It doesn't block calls but if you leave your phone on silent you can set an auto response to all missed calls and/or texts.
