I parked on Currieside Avenue to find text messages from the would-be punter saying that he only had ?70 (this being less than half of the fee that I had quoted him before setting off, having had him affirm that he had the full amount - ?150 - in cash at home), that his girlfriend was now at home with him (when he had told me, before I set off, that he was at home alone and never mentioned expecting anyone except me), and asking if we could have sex outside (since his girlfriend was now at home with him).
He had told me that he could neither receive nor make calls since his speaker was not working. Shortly after his last text message to me, notwithstanding, he called me no fewer than 6 times.
