STD dilemma
« on: 22 November 2017, 04:25:30 am »
I am an STD virgin. I get tested every 8wks etc.

My dilemma. I had a booking request from a really nice man. My issue is his last booking was with someone who I know for a fact had a serious STD , hepatitis C etc. She was ill for ages and in hospital. One of my clients is a doctor and says ?anyone those worked with her, or seen her should be shitting themselves?!

My concerns are how safe is it to meet him?

God I sound awful asking... I?m in no way judging the other girl. I don?t do BBever by the way . But do offer OWO?

For one no doctor should be giving out confidential details of a patient!  :o But if you're worried about owo I would use a condom and just say I had a sore throat so would rather be careful

I think the Dr was commenting generally rather than being involved in the case...

HepC is serious but - unlike HepB - really difficult to catch sexually. It's blood that's almost inevitably involved, and typically it's HIV+ men having unprotected anal where sexual transmission happens.

So I don't know whether the doctor was reflecting the risks in caring for someone with it (needlestick injuries etc) or assuming that everyone doing sex work is an IV drug user...
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

You don't have to see him since you know the lady was seriously ill.
He could be the carrier.

How long has she had hep c?it would usually take 20+ years or extremely bad luck and other severe health issues for someone with hep c to end up in hospital for a long time because of it. Are you 110%she does and this isn't a rumour?
Hep c is a bbv  that cannot easily be passed through sexual fluids, however risks are there if menstruating or blood/ trauma (not as rare as you would think, could be rough sex or an old shaving cut, gum disease etc).
I would say it is unlikely he would have caught it and then he would pass it on to you but why take the risk or do it if it causes you anxiety? I can't remember the stats on sexual transmission but they are tiny though not impossible.
I personally would say you will only do ow in this situation bc of someone he has seen before or just don't so the booming at all.

Hepatitis C is the most common type of viral hepatitis. It?s caused by a blood-borne virus that attacks the liver and is easily spread by sharing drug injecting equipment. It can also be spread through sex.

Stages of hepatitis C infection

The first six months of infection with hepatitis C is called the ?acute? phase. Around 20-25% of people will clear the virus naturally during this time. (This percentage is lower for people co-infected with HIV.)
People who don?t clear the infection will enter the ?chronic? (or long-term) phase and can pass on hepatitis C to others.

If I were you I wouldn't see him, because as the THT states, if the body doesn't clear it, then it becomes contagious, not sure where you got your info  from HappyHooker, but I would follow the Terrence Higgins Trust info, as it is expert in sexual health

Any uncertainty with your health that you are aware of a possible bad situation avoid it. It is not worth the risk even if a small chance of catching it.

No offence to anyone involved here but this seems very simple to me, don't see him! Why put yourself through it? We turn down clients for all sorts of reasons without needing to explain and for a few ??? this does not seem worth the stress. I would not see him, no need to explain why.

I?m not sure it?s hep c! I know it was a serious std that affects kidneys that?s all. The doctor btw is a client and no rwflectiin  on any patient/doctor relations. He was told by another WG about it.he doesn?t even know the girl.  It was about a year ago, so I can?t remember what the std was, my ignorance suggested hep C. Sorry.

I did post a link on safe sex/condom use, not sure if it was "off" (put in out of context, put in a wrong thread, wasn't clear why posted it etc) and could well have been removed.  It did have a paragraph on what you can catch regardless of condom use.  Not sure hep B was part of it. Might be useful if saafe has got a resource section on safety & hygiene.   :) But I know it's not fair to keep asking more stuff...   :-X   Personally, if someone declared that he has got this illness, and if you are not sure chances of having something else in this person would be?  At least, he was honest and you can walk away.  These illnesses can be very serious.  If you think you would be ok...well...some googling might enlighten you.

I never ever ever offer B/B and get testest so frequently I have as vip card. I?m seeing the doctor tomorrow so I?ll ask him about it again. Like I says this was last year. I may check if the girl offers BB on her orofile too, I don?t think it?s fsir to mention to the client that I know someone he sees had a serious std. that?s not my place or business . I have huge respect for everyone in our industry. Even though I know this girl happily chirps in on other forums slagging off girls. Two wrongs don?t make a right. Supporting each other is whst this site is about !

Hep C affects the liver not kidneys.
