Client with scabs on his penis
« on: 24 November 2017, 04:33:46 pm »
Hi all,
I saw a client this week who had a couple of scabs on the base of his penis. I normally do owo but once I noticed them I said I do covered just in case.
I asked him what it could be and he said just chafing from using sex toys.
Maybe I'm overreacting but I did touch them with my hand before I spotted them.
Luckily I have not had any stds before but just wondered if I should be concerned about them.
My knowledge of std symptoms are low.
Any feedback greatly appreciated.

I would have been alarmed as this could be from stds such as herpes, or he could have cut himself with a razor either way scabs are very worrying as if you were to knock one off it could cause bleeding and blood is the biggest risk! Chafing didn't sound likely. My partner gets chafing from his gym and training wear and we have used all sorts of toys and never had that issue?! Maybe get yourself checked out just incase Hun he shouldn't have even turned up if he had scabs down there. I had a similar problem a while back and made the customer leave without refund  xx

Not a good idea to touch it at all if you are unsure. I had a client yesterday say "most men have HPV but don't know about it"  :o & he expected owo before I refused.

That's probably true.  As I read, currently, there is no test to check if men have HPVs and which one(s).  Not a pleasant subject to go on, though.  :(

There is test for HPV my friend had got tested but it was a private clinic.... It is not on NHS She ended up getting the pre cancerous cells and had them lazered sometimes these things can be spotted via smear test.

Hi, Sorry, what I meant was "no screening for Males". However, it looks like they have a screening test (Pap test) in the US.  Copied as below:

"No, there is currently no approved test for HPV in men.

Routine testing (also called ?screening?) to check for HPV or HPV-related disease before there are signs or symptom, is not recommended by the CDC for anal, penile, or throat cancers in men in the United States. However, some healthcare providers do offer anal Pap tests to men who may be at increased risk for anal cancer, including men with HIV or men who receive anal sex."

If in doubt at all just turn them away. It's annoying losing business but not as annoying as catching something! There's so many infections people can carry, not even just STDs but fungal infections, And all kinds of skin infections,  it's never ever worth it.
And don't feel shy about it either, any normal human being will understand why you may have to turn them away.  A beautician has to do the same if a customer looks infectious. It's just part and parcel of being a responsible adult.
