Free personal safety app in memory of Hollie Gazzard

This phone app was created in the memory of Hollie Gazzard by her family. She was a young hairdresser who was stabbed to death by her ex boyfriend.

If you put Hollyguard or Hollieguard into your app store it should come up. It's a picture if a vintage hairdresser on a pink background. I found it vary useful when I was doing outcalls but I suppose it will work just as well if you are doing incalls.

Hollie Guard turns your smartphone into a personal safety device.

In danger? Shake your phone or tap the screen to generate an alert. Your location and audio/video evidence will automatically be sent to your emergency contacts who can take action to help you quickly. Three alert types - Personal, Stealth, and Deterrent - allow you to choose an alert setting appropriate to your specific needs.

Meeting someone? The Meeting Timer gives you extra protection when you are going to a dangerous meeting or are meeting someone new. Simply enter descriptive information and the duration of the meeting. When the meeting time has expired an alert will automatically be raised.

Traveling? The Journey feature allows you to notify your friends, family, and co-workers of your movements while traveling. Enter your start and end point, and an SMS & email will be sent to your emergency contacts when you?ve started and safely completed your journey.

Hollie Guard was developed by the Hollie Gazzard Trust (HGT) to help people stay safe. HGT supports young hairdressers and charities fighting domestic abuse and anti-knife crime. The app was created in honour of Hollie Gazzard

It really is the bees knees and the fact its free is fantastic.

A great feature is the secret voice & video recording that gets sent to your 'Safe contact' in the event of you setting it off but if someone took your phone and looked at it they wouldnt have a clue as its in stealth mode

If anybody can't find/use this particular app for their phone, it's worth knowing that the Suzy Lamplugh Trust website has a comprehensive list of safety apps for lone workers and there should be something there for everybody .
