Can they do anything dodgy if you give them a paypal email address to pay money into to or is it protected. Will only be giving the email. TIA

Do you have a personal or business account?

I think you need to log into Paypal and review your account settings. On many accounts people use their legal name and the payer then gets an email saying "You have sent ?20 to [your real name]"

I have a business account (have done for years) so I set my "business name" to match my work name, so the email will say "You've sent ?20 to Voluptuous Curves".
And me, I am not a mess, I am a wilderness, yes

Yeah, I know that so I've set one up as my work name, but obviously it's still my real bank details on there. I was more concerned about them pulling a scam. But not too sure about scams they can pull with an email address.  ???

PayPal is a bad idea for anything sex work related - they can and have closed accounts (without returning all the money) of people using it for that. They also have the habit of issuing refunds to buyers who complain.

Do a search for 'deposit' for some other ideas...

Thanks for replies ladies. I think I will just stick to cash only. If they don't like that then that's tough.  :)

Paypal can in some circumstances be reversed, they also have the rules mentioned by XW5.

I use Amazon vouchers and a dedicated bank account for deposits and those who wish to pay in advance.

I don't mess with paypal or bank transfers

i have heard bad stories about paypal with escorts, apparently one escort lost thousands as they just closed her account as soon as they found out it was for a sexual service. and she lost all of the money. i mean i don't know how true that is, but i wouldn't risk it.

i used paypal once and the guy found out my real name and starting calling it me over text  :FF

i ask for amazon vouchers for deposits. i buy a lot of things of amazon (from bookings, to renting films, to things for my incall place. and sex supplies etc)

guys can either choose to go and get a voucher from the supermarket/newsagents and send me the code off the back (that way they stay anonymous)

or just transfer money over from their amazon account. (although im pretty sure there is a way to do it if they dont have to have an amazon account)

Just don't forget to change your name to  a fake one. i changed my amazon name to my work name.

Seen this discussed in a SB context and the general recommendation is to use Venmo instead - it works the same as PayPal (I think it's even owned by the same company) BUT the key difference is it doesn't allow senders to dispute and reclaim the money; once it's in your account, that's it. Haven't tried it myself though, I keep thinking I should set it up in case I *do* ever need it but never seem to get round to to!

Scratch that, looks like it's US only

Amazon gift card can simply be bought with a credit or debit card, don't think you have to actually have an account - only the recipient's email.

You only need to change the name on your Amazon IF you are tempted to use the 'thank you' facility. All the sender needs is any email address, doesn't have to be the email you use with Amazon - it's simply to receive the codes you can then apply them to any Amazon account.
