Moving your location on Vivastreet
« on: 14 February 2018, 01:12:44 pm »
Hi ladies, apologies if I'm in the wrong place here.

I've just started using VS to advertise and I can't understand how I would move my ad if I was in a different place for a night or two? It seems once the postcode is saved you can't change it until the ad runs out, granted only a week but still.

If I moved location would I just need to add a second advert, essentially duplicating the first, in the correct postcode, adding it purely for the time I'm there then delete? Or would that be frowned upon as I'm really in two different places at once. If only!

Any advice appreciated please! I'm happy to put on a second ad as it's only cheap but I don't want to fall foul of any rules. Too long on AW I reckon!

:)

Changing location is a charged facility of VS, it's one of the options on your ad.

Whereabouts would I find that please Mirror, I can't see it on the help pages or anywhere else on there  ???

Or am I being thick, do I need to email or phone them?

You can only change your location autonomously (for a fee) in

1)  London
2)  South east
3)  Scotland
4)  West Midlands
5)  North west
6)  East Anglia

Where all other areas are concerned, you can just buy an advert for each location that you visit. This is what many of us now do.

Through a VS sales rep, it is possible to access the change of location facility for areas where you can't otherwise access it.  This requires you to purchase all elements of your advertising, including the advert itself and including locations where the change of location facility is accessible autonomously,
through the rep.  Note that in this scenario you are unable to either start or renew your advert on weekends or during public holidays since VS is closed then.  Understand equally that buying any element of advertising autonomously automatically terminates your relationship with the sales rep (meaning, as you can see, the end of your access to the change of location facility).

Ah thank you! I'm not in one of those areas so that must be why I don't see the option. Well that's fine, a week's ad is only ?4.99 here without upgrades so I'm happy to just start new ones if I move to a different area, even if I lose a few days. I guess I just didn't want to fuck up if I ended up with duplicate ads in different areas but I'll just start a new one if I move around and cancel the existing one.

Seems like a bit of a complicated system using the rep but I see the advantages. As it's so cheap I'll just do it myself!

Great explanation though thank you, none of that was on VS at all. :)
