Oh and yes texting can take up a lot of time, as well as being incompatible with driving.

I find sometimes when you reply to a text they think it's then ok to play text tennis and it's fucking not, pal. Do you want to book or not! Endless idiot questions. But it's harder to complete screening purely with text because sometimes a few things need to be answered on the phone.

One thing I find the phone invaluable for is if someone hesitates. If you say you don't do something they want, some are fine but if they hesitate then say it's fine I can be pretty sure they wont be confirming.

Mirror you make a good point about guys being drunk or on something. I once had a few nice polite texts from a guy and when he called he was off his fucking face. I stored him in trucaller as sounded drunk. He never mentioned this on text and I didn't pick it up from his messages.

I understand some ladies are fine with text bookings and I get that if they don't like to talk on the phone. But you do have to hear someone's voice to find out certain things and you have to talk once they arrive! I wasn't keen talking on the phone when I started putting up my number but I quickly got more confident asking the things I need to know and sussing out if I think they are going to fuck about or not.

No method is foolproof but we do need to take as many steps as we can to make sure we are safe and happy.

I'd never do a booking without speaking to someone on the phone first. My only exception in 3.5 years has been a deaf man.

Why don't you want to talk with them first ?
It's your initial gut feeling about a complete stranger that is important decider if your going to go ahead with the visit isn't it?

Where I moved to I won't be available to talk over the phone all the time due to circumstances. After the first booking it can be arranged with them if they wanted to another time.

Thank you for all your help, there is a lot for me to consider. Xx.

I can't add much here as I wouldn't do a booking without a phone call first.
But really I just wanted to say 'hello' to you MD :)

Perhaps create a texting step-by-step template that they have to follow to make a booking?
Something like: 1. Name 2. Date and time 3. Duration of the booking 4. Where they found your ad/ What services... etc
If someone is genuine, they will make this minimal effort and follow the template.
Could be the first thing to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Good evening,

Thank you for the template it will start me off. Xx

I would love to take text bookings,I also don't speak to clients on the phone (I hate it and don't use the phone much in general, as I always end up speaking over people and vice versa, I'm just bad on the phone)
I arrange all my bookings via email and always have for 10 or so years, it's just my way of screening I guess
(It does mean I take significantly less work though I'm sure)
When I tried to move towards text bookings in January, by displaying my number for a month, specifically saying to text me not call, I got not a single message that either followed the template I suggested (which was really simple), or that actually made a booking
Just a load of stupid questions and messages...and calls/voicemails which I specifically said not to bother
what works for one definitely doesn't always work for another! So don't be disappointed if you find it dosen't work as I did :)
The template idea is definately the way to go though good luck :)

I only accept text bookings with regulars I know. In fact most of them book this way.
