Client annoying me big style!

Not sure which section this belongs but a man I have known years has called me "little girl" once again. He is 71 and I am in my fifties for heavens sake.  It is the third time (I think) that I heard him say this and each time I have ignored it. 

Easy enough to just ask him not to again if he does repeat it but I know it would cause an atmosphere.  Not sure how to deal with it or just go deaf if he says it again.

I hate it.

I hate it too what I tend to do is the first time I hear it I ignore it but I know that I kind of freeze and give off an annoyed vibe. If they say again I tend to have to say something as it just makes me cringe because of the connotations.

Depends how he said it. Does he call you little girl in a peado way or in a demeaning kind of put down. Either way hes getting to familiar around you, as they do...and thats why even consistent regulars get banned. X

Next time he does it I would just say plainly that you don't like it and it makes you uncomfortable. Don't worry about creating a bad atmosphere. If you don't like something just speak up, because now he's done it a few times and clearly thinks you are fine with it.

I will say something next time if he does it again as it is not on every visit, you are right though I should not put up with it. With other issues I can quite happily speak my mind but this man has annoyed  me in other ways too from time to time but this little girl thing just makes me feel sick. I have been on the verge of binning him in the past for other things. He is my most regular and reliable client though, but I know he can always be replaced.  I will stay strong.

i understand you...but if i were you i would try to not to focus in this small detail...
more if he is a good source of income....i would think that there is worst! i just prefer it that others bad manners.
Sometimes we focus on small things, yes can put you off but try to think...that it is just a word!

i do not like myself hun, darling, baby and blabla...and if he is a new punter is difficult that i am going to see him...but if a regular call me in a special way..i do not care! just do not listen or start to call him in a special way you too! LOL he will understand in this way!
try to joke about that with him! 

these are just suggestion, of course if put you off really do not see him again!

I think you are right which is why I put up with it before, it will probably depend on my mood at the time if I ignore it or not but you know something just occurred to me. How would it sound if I called him little boy  !!  Totally unnacceptable. I may try that and see his reaction.  Yes I have a plan now.

Ive never had it in real life but if someone says it to me on webcam i give a big fake laugh and say "im 43!" and just keep laughing.

Oh god no, I would definitely be saying something. For example "I think you will find I'm a GROWN WOMAN", " Excuse me? I'm only X amount younger than you", "Seriously think you should go to Specsavers if you think I'm a little girl", " Keep your perversions to yourself".

I really believe that it is better to take it like thas as a joke! Will be fun and a positive way to handle it!
