I have been doing this job 7 yrs nearly and have never taken calls. I also never answer any emails or texta on days off.
Those guys are pricks!

this is good! i need to learn to do it me too! i m always reply to email/phone every day even i am off! i am just paranoid!
it is an addiction and fear to loose a booking! but i switch on my phone at 9/10am and switch off at 9/10pm.
some day when i am at the gym i switch on at 11am/12am, anyway i do not take same day booking but i receiving booking for next day and so on...
i think that it is very healthy to switch off completely when off and do not check email as well! i am trying to improve my addiction but it is not easy. In the past was worst!  :-X

i should admit that punter appreciate if you are replying quickly to them.... ideally!
me as well i do not like when i need to wait for a reply if i am interested in something....but then it is not always realistic and everyone should be patient! (nowdays we want quickly and fast things, we are expecting that due to social network, new way of communication, fast food, and modern lifestyle...for some is good, for me is not good as i like take my time for everything...rushing and fast things to me are not the best choices)

Mine gets switched off at 11pm and back on at 9am or thereabouts. My network (Vodafone and EE) will log missed calls and send to me as texts when I get up. This works for me as I?d know who called at 3am and just block.

I turn mine on as soon as I get up and off before I go to bed. If I'm away for the weekend I tend to switch it off and leave at home.

Mine stays on constantly unless it runs out of battery during the night. When I am not working, I put an autoresponse on which texts them immediately after calling or texting me. It simply says when I will be available again and if they'd like to make an advance booking then to send me a text with the details. Works well for me.

I used to answer every call, even on the days I wasn't working. Yes, it meant I made more bookings but also meant I never switched off.

I'm guessing the ones who answer every call live alone with no kids?  I'm with my daughter from 5:30pm until 8pm then I can't be bothered , I also don't have a working flat so I'm limited where I can go I don't have a solid plan.

After finishing the day, if i see any missed calls i just text them to call back and tell them when i am next available. I dont answer calls at that point. At about 9ish i put my phone aside but dont switch it off in hope to keep track of tw/undesirable calls/text and block them the next day lol.

I ask for an email first explaining what service they're looking for and when. If I think they seem genuine I give them my phone number and arrange time for a quick chat. That cuts down on a lot of calls. My phone stays off when I'm not working. Bliss!

What a bellend reporting you to aw. It?s perfectly reasonable not to give a number out to people making an ?enquiry.? I also never have my phone on except if I?m ?available today?? And obviously to speak to clients as they arrive. I have kids and so does a friend of mine and she?s the same. It?s the way we work so if it doesn?t suit them they should move on and find someone else.

The only texts I'm answer if I'm "off" are ones from known and respected regulars, or from new people who come across as sensible in their text.

No children, live with husband and a very loud cat, only ever at incall location if I have one booked in advance and client is either five minutes away or has just left and I'm busy tidying up, getting bed changed, used towels gathered up etc.
