Hi lovelies!

So I naturally have a very tight curl pattern (afro hair) which, for the most part, I wear loosely tied back under curly textured half wigs. However, because a lot of clients like touching my hair (and I suspect they can sometimes tell it's a wig) I'm beginning to think wearing a lace front with my hair properly braided underneath may be better. My only concern is that - having worn a lace front before - because I exercise regularly the wig would need re-installing weekly/fortnightly (i.e. very time consuming), or it will start to look a bit of a glue-y mess haha!

I also wondered if whether (rightly or wrongly) straighter (i.e. more European looking) hair could potentially attract more clients, and therefore a straight lace front may be worth the financial investment/effort anyway? I know this is a lot to do with marketing etc. but just wanted to find out more generally what you girls thought! Although I LOVE my natural 'fro it can be a lot of work to maintain (let alone after several sexy sessions per day ;D)

Thank you!!  :-*

Hello!
Im a black escort and have a very tight curl pattern also. Considered 4C on the curl pattern scales I think.
I also work in the hair industry so Im forever experimenting. Im a big fan of wigs, & weaves when it comes to protective styling, I make mine myself and get them sewn in by a fellow hairstylist friend. I have a few regulars who enjoy hair pulling (I do too) so this is a good option for me.

I would agree that since you go to the gym regularly the lace front would need to be redone more often if using glue, however if you find a good hairstylist who can sew the whole thing in you should be fine! Other than that you could try the *elastic band* method. Loads of videos on YouTube, and it keeps the lace front really secure. Ive done this myself. I dont tend to use the glue methods as my hair is so fragile! So I opt for sew ins which do last longer!

I would also advise crochet braiding if youve heard of it? If not have a look on YouTube there are hours and hours of videos. Its with synthetic hair so wouldnt be as *soft* as human hair but it looks and feels natural and can be taken out so easily.

In regards to straighter European looking hair on us attracting more clients, I think its the opposite! I change my hairstyle almost monthly and no word of a lie my clients always prefer my Afro look/curly hair (exactly like the dolls hair in my avatar lol!) when I do crochet braids or when I wear a wig that is similar to my natural hair. My clients always compliment me on it and say they really like it. One regular especially said I should scrap the straight hair and keep the curly/Afro look as he thinks I look much better like that. Friends & family always agree that they prefer the Afro/curly hair too. But I cant help but experiment!

So in my experience I notice my clients compliment my hair when it looks more like my natural hair, maybe because its essentially *different* to the *norm*? I have an escort friend who has half her head shaved the other side is long and wavy, she did this on a whim but stuck with it because so many people clients included loved it, again most likely because its unique!

Hope this helps. X

I don't have afro hair, but I've applied wigs with Got2be glued and it seems the best way of keeping them on without the mess. As for attraction, what works for one person won't work for another. For your natural hair, do you use olive oil? A friend of mine lets olive oil soak into her hair, then straightens it and finds it easier to work with.

Can we make sure it stays sex work related, please? I didn't merge it with thread about wigs because it's a slightly differemt subject, but it still needs to be relevant to this board. There are about a zillion general haircare and hairdressing forums on the internet already, which I'm sure the OP knows :).

Me too, i have a very tight curl pattern (afro hair) which,
I do not like my natural hair because they are very difficult to make, once I worked with my Afro laughs and all the clients touched me and pulled my hair...  :FF
I have to use sewn extensions, so it does not smell bad,
I wash my head every week ,at morning, dry very good and I put on perfume every day,
so far no client has regretted lol.
I have many regular clients, since I do little tours, I'm almost always in my flat
they joke me me because every month ,they see a different style of my extensions,
I think that makes them morbid :P
Live today as if it were your last day ... but think as if you were to live forever xx

I have curly hair and the punters always comment on it, they love it. I'd definitely stay away from straight hair if I were you. Only problem I have is hair pulling makes it go really frizzy.

Thank you so much for the advice guys! :) I've booked a hairdressers appointment for next week to get a curly full lace install in! Fingers crossed I can keep my afro in check and it's an opportunity to mix it up too  ;D xx
