Well, this whole thread is about how to have your own website using Wordpress which (as long as you pick an adult-content-friendly host, as discussed above) can contain whatever content you want, or omit whatever content you want - so if you're having trouble with Moonfruit, why not consider looking into setting your own site up?

It's probably cheaper or a similar price to Moonfruit subscriptions and there are approximately 1 gazillion Wordpress templates out there (ranging in quality and price, but many are free AND good quality) so the thing is, whatever Moonfruit does, is basically just completely unnecessary, generally-speaking. Wordpress has a point-and-click interface once it's installed (if you need someone to help you install it, see the link I mention above) so you never need to look at code. And you also should never need to look at an ugly layout or at sulky site owners telling you your business and/or content is illegal. Win-win. :)

I installed Wordpress on my own computer yesterday to experiment with it. If anyone else is interested to do this, here's the step-by-step installation guide that worked for me: link.

I find the Wordpress interface both user-friendly and feature-rich. I have also borrowed a Worpress book from the public library which I find very helpful.

I also think when registering a domain to do it in your working name, while strictly speaking your not meant to, I have yet to see nominet take anybody to court to prove lindasuckyourlovejuice wasn't actually christened that.

I currently have a Moonfruit site, and it is this reason why I don't want to 'own' my domain name - the thought of me somehow being traced through it brings me out in a cold sweat.  Sure, you can give your working name, but what about the address details?

So, to those ladies who do own their domain name, even if you do register it in your working name, how do you get around the address problem?

I just ticked the box to keep my details private when I registered it. Well them, since I have a few  :).

You only need accurate 'WhoIs' information if your domain name is registered to a Limited Company. Private individuals and businesses classified as a Sole Trader can choose to opt out and keep their details private. As an Independent Escort working alone then for legal and tax purposes  you are a Sole Trader.

Sorry that is incorrect as taken from here http://www.nominet.org.uk/other/whois/optout/

Only domain name holders that are non-trading individuals can opt out of having their address details published on the WHOIS. In other words, if you do not use or plan to use your domain name for business, trade (this includes the registration of domain names for monetisation purposes, e.g. pay per click advertising etc) or professional transactions, you will be entitled to opt out of having your address displayed.

As somebody whos office address is used for quite a few ladies, some of who have had the opt out removed by nominet, I can assure you they can and do remove the option if they get wind of it.

Ah.  Thanks for clarifying, Anjali.
