I have been speaking to some one at viva street they are trying to implement hiding the postcodes for us as they have realised it could compromise our safety ( explained how we dont give our addresses etc out willy nilly and dont want to put false postcodes in) they said they have had loads of complaints and are trying to sort it out as we speak he will ring me back at 3pm tomorrow to tell me how far they have got with it  ( it may take a couple of days )...........he has rang me a couple of times already today to tell me what is going on and that that they have had a meeting about it this morning.  :)

Good work.

I'm not renewing at the moment because of the fact I cannot put any proper photos on there, nor give any useful details and they are now charging in line with Punternet who do allow all of this.

Well mine is on now with the second part of the postcode hidden  they will do it  with all the future adds as well , my pics got took off this morning  Ruth so i phoned the guy i had been speaking  to and  at the same  time was up loading other  pics and asking him was this one  ok as they can do more things on a phone call than by email apparently and saves waiting for moderation .

I agree with the lack of detail in adds but doesnt bother me as so used to paper adds it's the txs off idiots that drive me mad ;-D

In reply to Vivastreet fees, it is off the chart, I paidfor two feautures that end a month later, for whatever reason, vivastreet removed one of features after only two weeks, I was NOT impressed.
What followed was emails back and forth, back on forth, with them accepting they had made a mistake, and owed me money, yet..never did get it refunded.
My friend calls it "Wormwoood Scrubs"..some of  the callers....well..just horror like is all I can say.
Sorry, I know this thred is not about vivastreet, I was just interested in others experiences with vivastreet.

DONT EMAIL them RING them up as you can be online changing your add and they can pass and implement it at the same time , you can upload photos and they can moderate it while you talk to them.you could of got them to refeature it while you were talking to them . I used to email and got no where but ring every time now .

I'm confused about Vivastreet. Is it the same as Adultviva? I popped an ad on Vivastreet about 2 years ago. At the time it was free and linked to your website as long as you had a return link, I think in the form of a banner on your Links page. I just forgot all about it and let it be. Then when I was having a redesign I erased their banner.

Now, according to my analytics, a site called adultviva provides me with around 120 visitors a month. When I checked out the site it was the same ad I'd posted on Vivastreet. They want a return link but obviously don't enforce that  rule too tightly. I'm wondering if they moved my ad to Adultviva when they changed the rules. Or is it totally separate, and a site that nicked my details? Either way I'm not complaining!

I would guess that it's a separate site that's basically nicked Vivastreet's idea and Vivastreet's content, a bit like how we get all those spammy emails from companies saying "Join my new site Adultjob.com and WorkAdult.com & you will get a million hitz 2 ur site only £100 for 3 months!!!" etc; they are hoping people will be confused by the similar names and think that they are 'official' rather than a silly scam. Not far off from those idiots who send out emails disguised as official messages from people's banks by nicking a few of the official images from the real bank's website.

A WHOIS search might reveal that they are run by the same people, on the other hand, cos you're a smart scammer if you are running both the "official" and rip-off versions of your site, after all. :)

Can I just point out the 75pounds a week charge to change location is an even worse ripoff because even when you click the box to change location it goes in to moderation and can take a while to be changed, sometimes 2 days, especially at weekends. Fat lot of good that is if you're in a place for one day.At that price the least they could do is make the change of loction instant.

This might be a stupid quesion but back last summer I put an ad on Viva and they had an 'Escorts' section, now when I'm looking to post another ad there, I cannot for the life of me find it!

Have they done away with that section in the interim, or am I being dim?!

I had an ad with them a few weeks back, just looked and the section appears to have disappeared!

Phew thank god it wasn't just me!
However when I googled 'Glasgow Escorts' the relevent section came up, so it is there.
Most odd.

And it'll let me repost my old ad if I want to.
