An educated prostitute.
« on: May 07, 2012, 02:28:16 PM »
I have been thinking about this for quite sometime. It seems to me that alot of men seen to assume that because we are in this profession we are desperate and can't do anything else. That we are possibly dumb, stupid or uneducated. I find this difficult to understand because we know that is not always the case.
Only today I was reading the paper and another undercover story about a female who works in the fire services and as hooker on the side has been caught out. There was another a little wile ago about a primary school teacher. The reason they choose do this on the side is clearly because they just want to be able to afford a better life style and love sex so think why not. Not because they have to. I think men generally think that you are only a prostitute because that's all you can do. If you were highly educated then you would be in a high paid 'normal job'. I have spoken to many women in this profession that are not only highly educated but very business minded. Myself I have never been brilliant academically but I like to think that living on my own from a young age, always being extremely independent and also the amount of traveling I have done puts me higher on a different level of intelligence than alot of young people at my age. This attitude does bug me though and I'm going to be shortly taking a course in beauty therapy which is what I want to do in the long run but I am even seriously considering going back to college and studying for a couple of A Levels maybe just so I can prove I am infact not stupid.

I love this job and wouldn't do anything I didn't like. If I ended up working in a spa environment say, I would most probably still do it on the side! Unfortunately this job is not accepted by society or people in general but my reason for stopping will be in the future when I meet someone and want to get married settle down ect not because I'm trying to 'get out of it'

Any thoughts?

This is a lifestyle choice for me not just 'work' and one that I love and will continue to succeed in.

I'm not blunt, I'm realistically honest. If you want an honest answer then I'm your girl, if not then don't ask me. I don't do liars or sugar coated crap.

I have worked in general and psychiatric  nursing for many years and although i tell my clients i do agency work in town they dont know exactly where. I find that many ladies in this industry to be smart & survivors who can be focused and enterprising  women with work. They are not as some men describe. But then some people think negative about  prostitutes due to their ongoing  ignorance and lack of real information. some of these men are unsafe to be around.
Many women live off rich men, only with them for what they can get out of them, money gifts  they are on continious overnighters!!!!! Thats their choice but they really are not in a position to be looking down on us working girls as they arnt doing much different themselves  just  that they are with one man taking his money instead of few more.!!!!

I was academically clever at school however since leaving school I have always preferred more vocational, practical jobs and just earning. I have some qualifications and my current 'other' job only 1/2 days a week involves medical care (but not to the level of nurse or doctor, although I'd love to study a degree, the inflexible hours you have to put in put me off doing a degree whilst my child is young).

Kylie, You do not sound at all thick or stupid to me. You sound clear-headed and articulate. Don't listen to any narrow-minded idiots who think that those who do this job ust be thick or can't do anything else. There are lots of jealous and bitter people out there who feel a need to try to take other's down a peg or two.

Something you learn in life is not to really care, and to just get on with it. Education becomes less and less important as you get older. Sure it can help but common sense, taking and making your own opportunities also play a big part too. I tend to spend less time these days worrying about what other career I could have had, and just look forward to what I can do.

spot on!!!

I get so annoyed when clients say to me, "Oh you're so intelligent, why are you doing this work?"
Hmmm...Because I'm intelligent!!! lol

Second this ;D

It’s also sad that many people (read: many punters) think that the only way to judge how intelligent a girl is, is by the number of degrees she has under her belt. I know plenty of Med, Law and Chemistry graduates who despite having brilliant minds, would still not last 5 minutes in this job. Academia is just one form of intelligence, in our industry being street wise and savvy is far more important.

Yes street smarts are important. I have a degree but without a healthy dose of common sense I wouldn't have lasted long in this job. I think that intelligence, empathy and common sense all help me whilst escorting.

I have learnt a great deal about human nature, not all of it good. Its been a massive learning curve for me and I'm still learning.

I totally agree that intelligence doesnt always come in forms of education and degrees.
Ive spoken to plenty of highly educated people(mainly customers)and been bored shitless after 5 minutes, they couldnt even hold an even, reasonably intresting conversation..
Also its chances and if you have been given any..
I never got the help or support, when i was younger to go universty, now ive got responsbilitys.
Whys a piece of paper proof..I think customers are patronising, when they act suprised,we have a brain..Wheres there brain?,in there cock most of the time..hypocrits

I home educated my two youngest sons (Now in their 20's) and although they have no pieces of paper they're the most amazing, intelligent, charismatic individuals!
Never been able to get jobs of course...but that just made them more creative!

Many people are patronising, its not just limited to intelligent people.

Also many, like myself had no help or support during my degree, from my parents or anyone. I had to do it on my own anfmd I'm really glad I did.

I dropped out of Uni, then had no money or support when I changed my mind and wanted to go back.

I'm certainly not stupid because I'm doing this job and resent the attitude we get from some men.  I had a man once walk into my bedroom, be immediately attracted to my bookshelf (as everyone is) and then stop in shock.

'Is this yours?'  he asked, picking up a book on science.

Me: 'Yes it is'

Him: (looking up in surprise) 'Have you read it?'

Me: 'Yes I have'

Him: (looking at my other books, all of which are of a similar theme) 'Wow'.

Me: (offended).
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused
